I draw monsters, fantasy stuff and cartoons compulsively and share them here fairly regularly. IDK if these are my best pieces, but they seem to be pretty popular. I also seem to be fascinated by pumpkin-headed dudes.

When they tell us "there is no alternative," what they mean is "stop trying to think of alternatives." To imagine radically is to move beyond the helplessness of prediction: a radical imagination dares to insist that history is what we make, not what happens to us.

"Despite massive investments...[AI] has delivered zero financial payoff to corporate America outside of tech. With no impact on the bottom line, mainstream corporate America is pulling back and starting to view token spending not as a source of growth but as a cost center that weighs on margins."

This analyst's report from Apollo about AI uses the term "S&P 493" to refer to the "S&P 500 minus the Mag 7" - because if you take out the AI companies, the S&P 500 is tanking. www.apollo.com/wealth/insig...

AI doesn’t know if it’s right or wrong about something. Also, it doesn’t know right from wrong. In fact, it doesn’t “know” anything.

Not a single parent has filed a book challenge in Palm Beach in two years. The district just removed 1800 books anyway, because AI told them to. There are many reasons that is unthinkable but let's not forget AI DOES NOT HAVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE BOOKS. IT CANNOT READ THEM. It just makes crap up!

Some numbers… Email the night before our flight: Your check in counter will open 3 hours before your flight. Check in counter: The counter will open 2 hours before your flight. Lost sleep: 1 hour. I mean, how much coordination does it take? This ought to be the lowest of hanging fruit.

Honestly, how fucked up do you have to be to think that an AI interviewer chatbot is a good idea? Who thinks this says something positive about your company?

This is some Black Mirror comedy shit. YouTuber filmed a job interview where two AI avatars did the talking instead of him. At one point, the dude walks out, and the AI keeps going without him. The end is even better - the avatars get stuck in a loop and start saying goodbye to each other forever.

Writers! I've been working with my buddy Mark to create a fun, accessible book mockup tool that does LOTS more than what you'll get on typical free sites. The real fun is in the small details. Seriously, check it out! I'd love any feedback or questions you have.

dudecovers.comDudeCovers: 3D book mockups from your own coverTurn your book cover into a real 3D book: the spine sized from your KDP file, then stand it in a bookshop, on a library shelf or in a real room. Free to start.

Would it kill some people to write a sentence or two about what a scheduled meeting is going to cover? Why it's happening? What I ought to prepare for? The more people you are inviting to a meeting, the more useful adding a little bit of context is helpful.

I’ve been doing a rewatch of S1 of Space:1999… -Barry Morse is the MVP. The only person with any personality and feels like he actually lives on Alpha. He leans on desks and walls, drinks coffee, and is generally comfortable with his surroundings…

-I must have been really patient 14 year old to wait through 48 minutes of mostly dry storytelling for 2 minutes spaceships. -I still like the set design and costumes regardless of how dated it looks. -for a Sci-fi show it has a pretty tenuous relationship to science.

-There is virtually no humor in S1. -Yes, the “Strange Mysterious Force” that drives half the plots is pretty maddening. More like “We aren’t interesting in coming up with a reason for things to happen so we’ll just say it’s an unknown intelligent force that made it happen and call it a day.”

One of the many great things about Fall is that Oreo moves his favorite sleeping spot to the box on the windowsill by my desk so I can hear his little dreaming noises while I work.

Oh, Stout has been a favorite for years, and I love Oz stuff. In particular, I’m a big fan of Jack Pumpkinhead, so seeing a Stout drawing of him is a real treat.

Also, as much as I like the combo of Ben& Adam, breaking up that pair makes the game more fair. Tom is their best guest contestant as he doesn’t just defer to Adam but actively contributes to the decision-making.
