It won't help no one, many of us use chrome because we trust Google with our account. Then chrome is based in open-source chromium which has direct competition from others based on chromium such brave, arc, edge, opera. What would happen if Google decides not to contribute to chromium?
Google is the search engine. Chrome is the browser. How does selling the browser open the search monopoly? Google search works in Edge, Firefox, Brave, and many other browsers already.
All this is going to result in is a reappeal and Trump will come to power and nothing will change.
Its is almost as if the tech bros had an incentive to manipulate its users to vote for Trump👀
Anything but Chrome.
Firefox,
(Chrome equivalent)
Dragon
Edge
Brave
Opera
Vivaldi (I've never tried)
Netscape Navigator if you are really old school and hardcore
If you're fine with Chrome, not sure there's any reason to change just because Google no longer owns it.
It might even be better if whoever ends up with it isn't as interested in generating ad-revenue as Google is.
I would avoid Firefox at this point though. They've lost focus on their mission.
If govt wants to break up Google, stop using it.
No chrome on any govt computer. No Google search on any govt computer.
No android govt phones. There are 5-10 alternatives to choose from.
Google will lose its dominance with the public overnite
It’s intriguing that no one is compelling anyone to use Chrome. We have the freedom to choose from various browsers like Mozilla, Chromium, Edge, Opera, and others. Therefore, Google should take a stand against this.
