Phew, at first I was afraid this was a full-blown nerf to the boss, but at least I'm grateful it only gets easier AFTER a certain number of deaths. So it's still possible to beat a tough, difficult boss, you just need try not to die, so as not to make it any easier. ✨

Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed. Proceed.

i got this from trying to copy my save from one device to another because steam cloud wasn't syncing it, i think because i missed the completion save. it was sooo funny. i fixed it myself when i realized i was missing one of my saves

I know I edited my save from Spamton on the Loaded Disk uncompleted to Defeated Neo with Dealmakers the night previously because I thought I had a non console file with the Dealmakers and I guess something was wrong. It could have been the Mike room flag too for mine, but I got it fixed br resetting

i believe this is because dark world sprites are inexplicably way larger than light world sprites, but because the game rescales them it doesn't look any different

Not necessarily inexplicably! The dark world is double the resolution of the light world, mostly visible in effects and stuff (the smoke at the end of ch3, susie's apron in the same chapter, the UI). It's just not noticeable because nearly everything in the dark world uses upscaled sprites.

Am I alone in saying I liked the challenge for the boss? Honestly - that's what made this one satisfying to finish, and it only took me a few times before the patterns clicked, but again - is it just me?? Imo, make it an option so players that want the challenge aren't forced with a pity victory.

I think you should apply the same nerf to the "pink-colored enemy". It's a really big step in difficulty compared to the previous ones. This, or slow down its bombs attack. It's too fast for my brain XD.

replying to this just to add my vote onto the pile, since i have nothing else to add other than what is already being said here :D (please toby)

the knight is fine after the nerfs, it's just very difficult to practice properly and the diagonal splits are hellish, but you can beat the knight before them

Best thing you can do for yourself in that fight is try and comprehend the bomb logic (avoid [x] axis of bomb, etc). It's easier said than done sadly... unless you're a bomberman fan. Then it's easy.

I don’t think it’s necessary hard, but there’s a lot of visual clutter and it can be difficult to know what to do or where to go for certain attacks. Making it more clear would fix the issues I have with it cause tbh if Jevil was in the game day 1 I than anyone can be

This. Once I got able to read her attacks, I was able to beat it (First secret boss I've beaten day 1, so proud of myself!), and this was definitely better than the boss with similar attack patterns in Undertale. Easier, way more fair. Actually FUN to play.

and this is not the only harder fight that does this, with Titan you get free healing items and with shadowmantle holder more healing candy is dropped, so it's usual for deltarune to do this

For the pink-colored enemy, i had a really hard time actually seeing the soul, since almost everything else was very close to the same color. I’m not sure if maybe i’m just dumb or if other people had that problem too

I got gud (I beat her on normal mode.) ((Not going to try hard mode)) (((I'll try to beat the knight legit after Deltarune's fully finished probably or if I ever do a replay))) ((((Also, I'm collecting parentheses, so if you have any let me know.)))) (((((I have 30 right now.)))))

Mild Deltarune Chapter 5 Spoilers Minor bug: A certain minigame (and maybe plagues others, might be worth a quick check) has a display bug where it fails to display best times with the proper decimal places. (example has a best of 5.103 being replaced with 5.083, but displayed as 5.83)

Pre-nerf final boss gang here. The fight really fucked up my hands and they still hurt after sleeping a while (don’t really know if it’s any one part of the battle might have just been all the adrenaline and time) so I’ll be happy to maybe not have to experience that again lol

I have beaten the final boss without it being nerfed. Don't know if I should be mad that I could have waited for there to be an update that nerfs it or if I should be proud I didn't need the update.

Fwiw the compromise is it only starts dropping difficulty after *several* losses, rather than immediately. Some numbers get subtly adjusted, nothing overt. Gotta get that sweet spot where you can fail a few times to learn and still have a challenge, without making an insurmountable wall for others

Nah I know where you’re coming from!! My ideal solution would be what we did, but add a setting to simply disable it globally. That way the flow doesn’t get broken, but you can still opt out. It’s not up to me, though.

Had this issue with the one room where Ralsei and Susie start ACTing automatically. I wanted to push through and do it all myself (and eventually did), but since their auto-ACT activates after the second failure, I had to constantly return to the title and reload my save.

I wonder if a certain ms bomberman will also be get netfed. i was able to beat them but my god those bomb attacks were overwhelming compared to the rest of the attacks
