To create a trans character in warhammer that is taken in good faith, to have someone who is neither a literally physical threat to humanity's existence or a weapon of the worst regime known throughout history, one thing needs to change. The Emperor Must Die

I will die on this hill. Warhammer needs to evolve if we don't want to see it slide further and further into fascist propaganda.

Also not clear to me why the 2018 treatment of King Lear featuring Sir Anthony Hopkins is not more discussed
How is it that McKellan’s 1995 Richard III is not available to stream or purchase? youtu.be/XEdQcoCjgHY?...

In general terms, what do we know about historical Troy at the end of the Bronze Age? That it was a large and prosperous city, a vassal state of the Hittite Empire, but still with Aegean influences. Famous for its horse trade, the city was a melting pot of cultures from all across the Mediterranean.
Let's talk about Troy. While the most famous version of the city is the one that appears in the Iliad and the Odyssey, written centuries after the supposed Trojan War, Troy (Wilusa to the Hittites, later called Ilium) was a real city with a long history. So, let's briefly talk about the real Troy🧵🔽:

Highly recommend these posts from @bbcstever.bsky.social on how the Russian newspapers are reporting events happening both inside and outside of Russia. #ReadingRussia
In today's Russian papers, surprise at the the defeat of Moscow ally Aleksander Vučić in Serbia. One paper: “Russia can expect nothing good from this.” Another: “The results benefit the EU.” But several point out: “The Serbs are dependant on Russian gas.” #ReadingRussia

In fact I will say the Earnest and Pious Charismatic Ethnic Minority political figure (AOC, Mamdani, El-Sayed) has been a pretty good bet for the American left so far, whereas the Disaffected Gruff White Guy Showcasing True Masculinity (Fetterman, Platner) has been a worse bet. Just an observation.
Yeah start insinuating he has morning chai rather than coffee, say that he knocks things for 6 rather than hits a home run, allege that he is generally a clean living good boy who loves his mother and prays every Friday (pejorative).

"When the facts change I change my mind with them, pray tell what's your policy sir?" seems like a pwn by Keynes, but judging by the way many in our press talk about Brexit and Rejoining they would simply have no shame whatsoever in responding "I never update my opinion, and if you do you are evil".

This is just the maddest argument. These people would trap us in poverty to keep a decade old commitment, which no one ever actually made, to an electorate which no longer exists.

Yeah, this is really bad. It's good that El-Sayed distanced himself from it, but I am in awe at how Cenk's left-wing PAC managed to combine antisemitism with transphobia and pitch it as *supporting* the Democrat in this race.

Wallahi I will make this fukken website know what happened in this country between 1966 and 1972, I have tolerated “the Dems just sold out for no reason one day and all became Big Money Uniparty Reaganites because they hate the pure and noble workers” for too long

The Hard Hat Riot is the single most important and consequential independently organized labor action in post-Gilded Age American history but the entire left-of-center has deliberately chosen to completely forget it because of how utterly embarrassing it is to us

The “something” in question was the workers themselves deciding by 1966 that they no longer wanted New Dealer welfare capitalism if it meant black Americans would benefit from it while anti-war protesters were free to burn the flag
Something happened in the 70's that crystallized politics (and many other topics) into a new set of assumptions and priors. It gave rise to Reaganism and completely crushed New Deal Socialism; Dems that eventually reemerged were and still are centrists scared of their own shadows.
