It's the sum of fossil carbon burnt. Most of it is burnt for electricity, some is burnt for transport. It's no one country, though the ten biggest are obviously the ten biggest polluters. It isn't solvable by any individual action.

Unfortunately that’s a photo of Eunice Foote’s daughter Mary Foote Henderson, despite being commonly misidentified as Foote online. Climate scientist Katharine Hayhoe has lead a multi-year effort to get a verifiable image of Foote & we don’t have certainty but can rule out images of her daughters.
