i had a similar problem with the phone and ISP provider where it often didn't worked, so i wrote a mail that the phone doesn't work and the should write a mail ... well i got a mail that they couldn't phone me ... i send a contract canclelation next

Last time I was a contractor on a big insurance corp project it was an "AI agent". It was unable to do anything. And it was the only way to create a ticket. Hawing no access to email for some stupid internal security malfunction (because of the abandoned remains of my 8-years old ...

...previous account from my previous work with them) I had to phone my manager in another time zone (11hrs difference) ask him to create a ticket, got the ticket number then spend an hour trying to reach helpdesk on a "free number", which is not free from my location, tell them the ticket, repeat

it during several days, call the manager again to "escalate" then receive a call from the helpdesk, where they've spelled a HALF of a new password like "a&H^4j)" to me, then the manager received the second half of the password in the same way, ...

This is soooooo frustratingly true. It's 2025 and we are all still supposed to do tech support on our own devices. (Couldn't log on to a site when id/pwd that hadn't changed in 7 days since last login. Called. Major "system change" w/ new pwd req. No notice.)

Had exactly this experience for an hour yesterday while trying to install a “simple to install” and highly rated WiFi extender. Somehow restrained myself from throwing it across the room. Instead returning to sender.

Reminds me of when I was trying to get into my old battle.net account and they wouldn't let me reset my password until I completed the 2SV through the app, which I didn't have because the last time I opened my account was before they had 2SV....

No internet on mobile phone Phone 333 for support Press 1 if this is the number you are calling from Press 3 for help Press 1 if you have loss of network or signal We have just sent you a text [and hangs up] Text from Three : "Please go to our website" 🤦

Brave of you to assume that there's a customer service number to call, rather than an AI chat bot and service ticket system that only works when you're logged in.

You forget the service desk step where they make you repeat all the previous steps a few more times before saying, "We've opened a ticket on your behalf, someone will email your shortly" I say this as a 20 year IT guy lol.

I struggled to buy a ski pass online and after at least an hour, finally gave up. I called the ski club and was told ‘you know you can do this online and also we are not here right now to help you. Try next week.’
