Alexei Sayle's Stuff (20th October 1988). "Well, we apologise for the absence of Alexei Sayle in this week's edition of Alexei Sayle's Stuff. We're attempting to right the problem, but in the meantime the programme will continue in Leslie Crowther only".

The only fan club I ever joined was Mud and if Amol even dreams he’s in that sort of company he better wake up and apologise.

When Blessed was rehearsing Peter Pan in Manchester, my mate had to deliver a big rubber crocodile to the company. He was told to deliver the prop to the room. When he walked in, Blessed roared, ‘here comes the fucking crocodile!’ grabbed it, and wrestled it to the floor. What a legend.

Brian Blessed’s birthday is an excuse to share one of the greatest paragraphs in any memoir ever.

I’m knuckling down to create lots of new designs. I have my own ideas, but give me a shout if there’s something you want to see. Dr. Who, some Folk Horror, Grace Jones, Goths and British comedy in decades are on the cards (or will be…)

Or even: Emu Orville Nookie Spit

They should have gone all out and done Classic British TV Comedy Animals. £50: Spiny Norman (illustrated here) £20: Victor Meldrew’s telephone dachshund £10: Duke, Boycie’s Great Dane £5: Mrs Slocombe’s Pussy

My current ear worm is multi-layered-Something by The Beatles, which morphs into All The Young Dudes, which finishes as I Can Drive by Shakespears Sister. Because they all have that same bloody ascending chord progression.

And Crossroads. It’s calling me and I don’t know why. Could be my most unpopular design yet. Why not?

Me and my mate Naz were at Glastonbury when they used to have a cinema field. The Wicker Man was showing. About 3/4 of way through they film the projector broke. Most people left but we fell asleep. They fixed the projector as the sun was rising which perfectly matched the final shot of the film.
