These people had protected status. They lived here legally. They worked, they paid taxes. They made lives. Raised families. Now we’ve dehumanized them. Ripped away that protection and told them to get out. This is a stain on the soul of this Nation.

Maine deserves better than 6 more years of Susan Collins! Nearly 30 years in DC. Too many votes for the GOP agenda while Mainers were told she was “concerned.” Troy Jackson is a logger, former Maine Senate President & fighter for working people. Choose TROY JACKSON on Nov3rd #TroyJackson #SheShed

This is a campaign video posted by the Jon Ossoff for Senate in Georgia YouTube account over a year ago. It has garnered only 30,000 views on YouTube. I'm sharing this on BlueSky because I believe it's some of the best Democratic messaging that I've ever seen, and I think it deserves more views.

How, again, are Dems supposed to negotiate with the Rs on the 2026 fiscal year budget (already 3.5 months late) if Trump has no intention of honoring the deals negotiated and laws passed?

Bob Weir was a true son of California who helped create the soundtrack of a generation. He was — and will always be — a king of psychedelic rock. Bob will be deeply missed, and his music will forever live on.

The Dead had a profound impact on the world. Their concerts were legendary, the community they built lifted spirits and created family, and their longs inspired generations. Bob, your long strange trip has come to an end, RIP and say hi to Jerry for us. ✌️❤️ 😊

A tiny number of Republicans in Congress could change the course of history by teaming up with Dems to stop this madness, but every day every single one of them decides to serve their king

Why is everyone so quick to assume this was a case of "political violence" before knowing the facts? If the shooter turns out to be ill, is this still a political violence issue or is it a mental health/gun control issue?

Got an email from the SSA today "applauding" passage of the Big Beautiful Bill because it cuts taxes on social security benefits. Will someone please sue to stop the SSA from engaging in political messaging? Thanks.

The possibility that RFK Jr. is going to undermine herd immunity in the United States grows increasingly likely. This would mean that US will be responsible for starting numerous pandemics and potentially destroying the effectiveness of the entire globe’s vaccine arsenal. This is bioterrorism.

Rep John James still won’t hold a town hall—so his constituents did it for him - again. Tonight in MI’s 10th, voters gathered to voice concerns about Social Security, health care, and GOP-backed budget cuts. James was invited. He didn’t show. RashidaTlaib is speaking to his constituents shortly.

You’d think that a president who claims to be revoking visas to stop political violence and stand up against antisemitism would have something to say when one of the most high profile Jewish elected officials in America is the target of an arson attack in his home on the first night of Passover.

Tonight, hours after the Paul Weiss news broke, an associate at Skadden Arps sent a firm-wide email: "Please consider this email my two week notice, revocable if the firm comes up with a satisfactory response to the current moment...We do not have time. It is now or it is never..."

I think judge is making this more complicated than it should be. He should issue Orders to Show Cause against each individual defendant as to why they should not be held in contempt of court for violating order. He seems to be framing the government's defense for it by asking for single declaration.

@schatz.bsky.social Interested to hearing your reasoning on voting for cloture. Lots of screaming & hollering about the continuing resolution. I'm still not clear about whether the continuing resolution is worse than a government shutdown. Which gives Trump more power to destroy? Unchartered waters.

Via “One First,” my (very quick) attempt to untangle this morning’s 5-4 #SCOTUS ruling in the foreign aid funding cases—and what it means going forward both for foreign aid funding and for the broader Trump litigation universe: www.stevevladeck.com/p/129-untang...

stevevladeck.com129. Untangling the Foreign Aid RulingThere's a lot going on in the Court's cryptic, 5-4 ruling in the foreign aid funding cases. Here's my (very) quick attempt to unpack some of the most important takeaways.

Idea: create a "blue" stock index fund - for example, that excludes Tesla, Amazon (b/c of WaPo), Meta, and any company that gives more than half of its political donations to Republicans or Republican affiliated PACs. How do we do this? I certainly think their would be a market for it.

Max Kennerly@maxkennerly.bsky.social

Ouch. I'm glad judges are pushing, but at some point they need to get over their habitual deference to the government and handle this as they would most cases, to wit: "Counsel, step outside the courtroom, get on your phone, and bring someone here who can answer my questions. You have one hour."

When I was a child, I learned that the Constitution didn’t apply to people like us. I said the Pledge of Allegiance from inside a barbed wire camp, the words “with liberty and justice for all” wholly meaningless. But I did not give up on America. I’ve spent my life fighting for its ideals.

Machine Pun Kelly@kellyscaletta.bsky.social

When we were children, we were taught that no matter how you reached, no matter much wealth and power you accumulated, you were not above the law. We can no longer teach our children that. And that's really fucking tragic.
