On this date, a sitting Vice President told the media that the Pentagon is lying to the President and that the war he stupidly started is going horribly and is likely to get worse and has significantly weakened national security around the world. Incredible.

Also, I am not a moderate Democrat. One of the most irritating and destructive habits of the online left is acting as if progressives who urge other progressives to work in a coalition with more moderate Dems, are THEMSELVES moderate Dems. No! We are progressives who are not acting like children!

The White House officially has no balls.

The technologist Edward Coristine, a key operative in Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency who’s gone by the name “Big Balls” online, has resigned, the White House tells WIRED. Read the full story: www.wired.com/story/big-ba...

Gosh, remember how *shocked* the media was that one time Obama said something salty about Fox News?

Trump: "Fake news New York Times and CNN make up a phony story to get some hits ... it was CNN, it was the New York Times, and they're both disgusting, really horrible groups of people."

I don't mean to redirect valid pressure on the Dodgers, but are people just gonna give the rest of the teams a pass as if this is just an LA thing or ... ?

Los Angeles Dodgers@dodgersbot.bsky.social

In partnership with the City of Los Angeles, the Dodgers have committed $1 million toward direct financial assistance for families of immigrants impacted by recent events in the region. Additional community efforts to be announced in the coming days.

An American president told a city of 10 million people to evacuate it immediately as he urgently leaves the G7 to fly to DC and then … nothing. But people still treat him as if he isn’t insane and a threat to everyone. Oh, and Biden was old.

Absurd. The Dodgers and their employees were *the targets* because the organization is set to announce support for their ICE-impacted community today.

A hearty “Fuck the Dodgers” chant from protestors present.

I could be proven wrong within days or even hours, but I think this is a decision Trump is constitutionally unable to make. On one hand, he would demonstrate power, which he confuses with strength. On the other, he would face potentially disastrous consequences of which he is terrified.

Wait, I thought SNL was on hiatus.

“Tesla’s driverless ‘robotaxis’ could launch in Austin as soon as June 22. But a demo in Austin today showed a $TSLA, manually driven to test its Full Self-Driving system, failed to stop for a child-sized dummy at a school bus—and hit it.” @cbsaustin @velez_tx

For example, with the protest in LA, pay attention to how often visual images of cars burning are shown vs how often depiction of people marching peacefully are shown. This is #MediaFraming in action. It's a tool for shaping how audiences understand and interpret what's happening.

It is completely unlawful for ICE to turn away members of Congress like this. The law could not be more clear; no member of Congress may be denied access to a facility where ICE is detaining someone, and they cannot be required to schedule in advance. Surprise inspections must be surprise.

Jonathan Cohn @jonathancohn.bsky.social

If ICE were acting entirely within the law and maintaining good conditions in all its facilities, they would not be turning Congresspeople away. But they clearly aren't. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/08/n...

Think about it - 200,000 voters in four states. And the 40% who couldn’t be bothered. As France’s Europe Minister said “We cannot leave the security of Europe in the hands of voters in Wisconsin every 4 years”. They get it. We don’t.

If a President can use fake agencies to cripple huge parts of the government millions of Americans depend on and declare fake emergencies to throw the global economy into chaos and declare fake insurrections to occupy American cities with armed troops, maybe the problem is the Presidency itself.

The military isn’t being employed to carry out an immigration policy. The immigration policy, and especially the way the administration is choosing to carry it out, is an excuse to call out the military.

On May 5, 1930, 1,028 economists urged President Herbert Hoover to veto the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Bill, warning it would harm the economy and provoke global reprisals. Despite the plea, it passed—and is now seen by many historians as an accelerant to the Great Depression.

Mad King stuff. Fully out of control.
