via @stathead.com, throughout 122 years of world series history there have been two games in which a team scored 10+ runs and allowed 3 or fewer hits. both were the brewers (tonight and 1982 game 1)

JD Vance: Ryan Zinke complemented my beautiful blue eyes earlier today. I was very excited about that. We're self-confident men in the Trump-Vance administration. The president has been noticing a lot about the physiques of everybody lately

This man wasn’t alive when gas rationing caused hours-long lines at the pumps.

FactPost@factpostnews.bsky.social

Vance: I remember driving to a gas station to wait hours in line for gasoline that was now more expensive because of a region of the world made up of countries and names that I couldn't even pronounce

No, they were middle-aged men wearing powdered wigs, elaborately embroidered hostess jackets, silk hose, and shoes with enormous buckles and substantial heels. In other words, our Constitution was written and signed by drag queens.

#CaliforniaVotes YES on Prop 40

Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social

Just to be clear... Prop 40 is a ONE-TIME retroactive tax. It applies ONLY to billionaires and would tax just 5% of their wealth — which grew 30% in 2025. California's billionaires would still be worth $2T+ AFTER the tax. The revenue will fund healthcare for millions of Californians. Vote YES.

Donald Trump has spent at least $45 BILLION on his Iran war. $30 billion could've extended ACA tax credits for a year and kept premiums from skyrocketing. $13 billion could've paid for Head Start for a year. AND we'd still have money left over.

Niedermeyer has Musk nailed.

e.w. niedermeyer@niedermeyer.online

the most moderate, apolitical and non-controversial opinion in Elon Musk is that everything he sells is too good to be true, and will either fall apart and be expensive to fix, or will be clawed back and resold to you for more money

The quality of negotiators, as well as public awareness of their personal interests, matter when lives are on the line. Witkoff and Kushner are hardly qualified, nor are they honest brokers. Starving Ukrainians and, indeed, the entire civilized world deserve better.

Oleksandra Matviichuk@avalaina.bsky.social

I have read dozens of outraged posts because the US special envoy Witkoff called Putin a "humanist." But no one is writing about the fact that the American negotiators are simply not doing their job. Let me explain.

Paraphrased from a post on the evil platform: Dear Undecided Voters, If there are 10 people on the bus and 3 vote to drive off the cliff, 2 vote against it, and 5 people don't vote, you're all going off the cliff. Your reminder that not voting is literally the dumbest choice. #VOTE

My party isn’t leaving me because I’m leaving it. The party may be transphobic. I am not.

Wintersong@wintersong.bsky.social

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC - @electdemocrats.bsky.social) is running anti-trans ads now, so I don't know how you can say the party itself isn't embracing transphobia. There are still some good Dems out there, but transphobia is apparently a party value.

Glad I haven’t sent him any $$

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

This is all well and good, but the entire DC metro area is already a traffic nightmare. When will northern & southern river crossings become the better solution? Get interstate through traffic off local roads & give us more transit. This isn’t it.

NEW AD: Have you seen these anti-Talarico attack ads? Elon Musk paid for nearly all of them. The world's first trillionaire knows if he drags the most corrupt politician in Texas across the finish line, Ken Paxton will owe him everything. Elon Musk: Texas is not for sale.

The president of the united states comes out in favor of a mother helping their husband indicted for child sex abuse abscond from justice and then trash their daughter as a liar after the fact bsky.app/profile/atru...

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"

Also the *specific* thing the mother claims Acton lied about was that the family lived in a tent during part of her childhood. The court records show that the stepfather was arrested... in the tent where they were living.

The US and the West welcomed Russia into the community of nations after the Cold War. Investment poured in. The G7 turned into G8. The idea that Poland, Estonia, etc. forming their own foreign relations was so unfair to Moscow that Russia is entitled to murder Ukrainians 20 years later is insane.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Ron Johnson blames US for Putin invading Ukraine: "The way we treated Russia after we won the Cold War, how we pushed them. I'm not defending Putin, but we said we were not gonna move NATO one inch to the east. We brought it right to their doorstep basically. What did we think Putin was gonna do?"
