Controversially, I like animals, and food. Also biking about and other human-powered movement. Family medicine in Alberta, 🇨🇦, he/him.

Turning HIV from a death sentence to a manageable chronic disease was pretty damn cool.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

I chose both my clothing and my bike poorly this morning. Now I am working in wet underwear. If anyone hasn't set out yet, it is NOT a day to be riding on slicks...

It's snowing/raining and windy. Debated way too long about whether to bike or drive to work, eventually realizing what I really wanted was to stay in bed reading books...

Voter turnout is absolutely crucial in this referendum. Monday is your last opportunity to save Canada. We can win this fight together. Vote YES to Canada and NO to the rest!! 🇨🇦 Make sure everyone you know has voted. Find out where to vote at: vote.AlbertaNDP.ca

I have made a burrito. It contains leftover roast turkey, leftover squash/apple/onion casserole, leftover peas, jalapeno cholula and is slathered in cranberry sauce. It is MAGNIFICENT.

From the DM’s… Recovery Alberta previously had a program to help people navigating recovery get ID. According to this, that program has now been ended. Because why make it easier for folks trying to get sober? #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

WATCH: Seriously, if you’re following ANY bike-lane debate, you really should watch and share this excellent news story. Ford LIES that bike-lanes are bad for small business, and THE ACTUAL BUSINESS ASSOCIATION obliterates him with data. Remember and share this as Ford tears out Toronto bike-lanes.

toronto.citynews.caAnnex businesses tell Ford to back off Bloor bike lanesStores in the Annex say the Bloor bike lanes have been a big boost to business. As Michelle Mackey reports, the neighborhood's BIA wants the province to back off its new bill that could see the lanes removed.

Just cast a vote to keep Alberta a Canadian province, while sitting underneath the flags of Norway, Finland and Sweden, because THAT'S how we roll.

Huh. In a poll of physicians, 55% said their intention if Alberta were to separate would be to go work in another province. Guess the Republic of Alberta will let dentists and optometrists deliver babies? If there are any of those, of course.

My fellow Canadians, tell me of your #Thanksgiving pies. We made a cracked but delicious pumpkin pie, and a McIntosh/Ambrosia/Honeycrisp apple (with one Anjou pear sneaking in) pie.

Near disaster! I forgot the whisk attachment for my ancient mixer is broken. Had to whip the cream for pie by hand like some kind of pre-electricity sous chef...

Yep.

“True North, a right-wing media organization, promoted the event on social media as “the most important free speech event of the year” “Media outlets were denied access to the event and were unable to hear the premier’s remarks.” Alberta in a nutshell. calgaryherald.com/news/local-n...

Thankfully, spaced out on my run and went right past my turnaround point, had a "where the hell am I?" moment some time later. Anyway, that's 12km in the legs...

I feel it's very important to know that not only can you make a ganache out of chocolate and peanut butter to frost a cake, but also you can take the leftover ganache and froth it into hot milk for hot chocolate.

I am a highly trained medical professional, and my working diagnosis is that I just put my hand on a whole chili flake left on the table then rubbed it directly into my left eye. Ask me anything?
