Agrobacterium-mediated transient expression has revolutionized plant research, but is largely confined to solanaceous species. This study shows that an engineered strain allows efficient transient expression across diverse dicot crop species. 🧪 #AcademicSky #plants plos.io/3W0hqlP

A balancing act...⚖️ Maruyama et al. show how the E3 ubiquitin ligase plant U-box protein 4 (PUB4), stimulated by CERK1 receptor kinase, targets FERONIA receptor kinase degradation to help regulate chitin-induced immunity in #Arabidopsis doi.org/10.1093/pcp/... #PlantImmunity #PlantScience

doi.orgPUB4 activates chitin signaling by ubiquitination-linked degradation of the immune suppressor FERONIAAbstract. Ubiquitination regulates pattern-triggered immune responses in plants, but the underlying mechanisms remain incompletely understood. In Arabidops

🌱New preprint 🎉 I am happy to share this last work of my PhD research! We uncover a novel role of cysteine protease RD19 in immunity. RD19 regulates RBOHD-generated ROS and is required for induced resistance responses. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6... More details in the thread below! 🧵

New preprint! There have been quite a few papers about RLP and RLK receptors, but none of them have a truly reproducible annotation pipeline (including my own...)... We finally made such a pipeline and look more systematically at RLPs within tomato. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...

Finally got a break from the endless spine pain to do more petunia experiments. This is now the fully F8 inbred version of my Alice petunia that I have been breeding since 2021. I selected for regeneration speed, transformability, and big big flowers.
