Very happy to receive the Best Talk Prize at #PPRM2026! Thanks so much to the organizers and everyone who made the meeting such a great experience. Excited to keep pushing the project forward within the GreenRobust framework! @greenrobust.de @as-in-hohenheim.bsky.social

Xu Wang from Andreas Schaller’s (@as-in-hohenheim.bsky.social) group has received the Best Talk Prize at the Plant Peptide Receptor Meeting (PPRM2026) for his work on new systemins in tomato. Congratulations!

Yeah!!! So exciting to see Xu presenting new work on systemins in tomato at #PPRM2026 🌱🔥Our preprint: doi.org/10.64898/202... This one feels personal. My work in the Schaller lab was on systemin signaling specificity, and now Xu has pushed the story forward by uncovering new systemins in tomato.

Xu Wang (Schaller's lab), giving a talk at #PPRM2026 about new systemins in tomato, reminds us of the 1991 Science paper from Clarence Ryan's lab that basically started the whole field: 2 kg of tomato leaves to finally extract 1 ug of systemin. Amazing biochemistry. www.science.org/doi/epdf/10....

🚨🌱🦠 IT'S OUT! Lead by Pedro Jiménez-Sandoval from Julia Santiago's group, we found that IGP1 is a DAMP receptor for the sugar cellotriose. Interesting finding -> we found that DAMP recognition is a key immune layer for proper PAMP-triggered immunity signaling prior to PAMP detection.
