Been flipping casually through the family tree, especially the mysterious side (gramps went out for a pack of smokes, etc). In all the wanderings of my ancestors, the most haunting is a 9th great grandmother who died in the neighboring township to where I grew up. For perspective...

The only reason my parents lived there was for my dad's job. My parents did not even sort of originate from that area, and most likely had no knowledge of this individual. The individual in question was from Scotland. Here I was playing soccer a few miles from the hamlet that still carries her name
