I grew up in LA and went to UCLA. I knew many kids that went to USC. All were entitled rich f**ks who didn’t put the work in to go elsewhere. And what we saw there a few minutes ago was representative of the USC culture. Who celebrates trying to kill someone and almost succeeding?

‘It’s the best feeling’: how Copenhagen gave cyclists a green wave. “Traffic lights are synchronised so a rush-hour cyclist at 20km/h can catch green lights all the way.” If you want people to choose not to drive, make the non-driving trip better & easier for them. It’s as simple as that, really.

I won't claim that riding a bike fixes everything, but moving your body, getting some fresh air, and being face to face with nature on a simple commute can do so much for your physical and mental health. You don't always have to leave the car at home, but give it a try sometime if you can.

Bikes are an economic disaster. The only things I bought for my bike in the past year were brake pads. At this rate, how are corporations going to make money? How are they going to buy politicians? How will I ever go into debt? Who are we going to bomb? The whole foundation of our economy is shot.

Denmark, particularly in Copenhagen, has installed floating platforms/islands planted with wildflowers and native vegetation in its harbors and canals. These create safe urban habitats and sanctuaries for birds, bees, pollinators, insects, and even some aquatic life. Original post

Norway will always be the GOAT of the energy transition. Instead of talking about the future, they proved it could be done & showed how. In 15 years, new car sales went from 0% to 99% electric, while the rest of the world kept arguing about timing and speed. #Bettrification #EV

Hollywood: please stop making actors pretend to hold and drink out of empty coffee cups like they are full. We viewers are not stupid. We can clearly see they are light and empty, and it drives us nuts.

I read the “Save America Act,” so you don’t have to. Most of the media apparently *hasn’t* read it because, if they had, they would be sounding the alarm about the provision in Point 1, below, which almost none of them have even mentioned. I hope this summary helps raise awareness. 1/

A complete, connected, comfortable network of protected bike-lanes is a climate mitigation strategy. It’s a healthy cities strategy. It’s a social equity strategy. It’s an affordability strategy. It’s an economic devt strategy. It’s a smart mobility & space saving strategy. Etc. Etc. Etc. Etc.

Great organization and great program.

A key difference between people on bikes and those in cars is that people on bikes are usually happy to see others riding bikes, whereas those in cars often rage at other people in cars.

We visited the British Naval war memorial in Portsmouth while in England last week. It lists and honors 25,000 British sailors that lost their lives in the World Wars. Growing up I thought we’d never see tragedy like this again, but our current regime is making me fearful this could happen again.

Some scenes from the best dog park in the world, Zumwalt Park in Eugene, OR. It’s really just a big hiking area through a forest on a lake where dogs can be off leash. #dogsofbluesky #bluehealer

I saddened by not knowing what to do to fight against neighbors being kidnapped and put in concentration camps, or our constitutional rights being stripped from us. I march in protests and urge all of my very-blue legislators to fight for us. What else can we do to resist?

And to fight healthcare from being stripped from us, the promotion of racism, corruption, fiscal ineptitude, and general governmental disdain for the populace.

My wife’s grandmother was born in Ireland and my wife’s been trying to get an Irish passport. We learned today her parents started the process in ‘91 and she’s been a foreign-born citizen since then. Our kids are citizens too then. It’s our escape strategy. Although I may have to be left behind!

I ride bicycles in the Eugene area for fitness and transportation. Every trip sees me cross several bridges either made for bicycles or now dedicated to them. I’m so proud of how Oregon and Eugene invest in infrastructure for transportation other than cars. I wish the rest of the country did this.

They promised to root out waste and abuse and found none, and in the process wasted money and abused innocent people. They promised to deport 20 million people but are not getting anywhere near that, so they are desperately arresting anyone they can get their hands on whilst wearing face masks.
