I am so over this bullshit, malicious actors obviously have no problem finding their way to models that can do this; all they're doing is making it harder to patch things before they do.

The people at PHP telling every blackhat in the world there is a massive CVE in every version of PHP and then not releasing the fix for 1 day is the most brain-dead thing I have seen in a long time.

It's almost a joke at this point, but the entire story of Mamdani's mayorship really has been "it turns out we can just turn off the orphan grinding machine, the switch was right there the whole time."

New: Mayor Zohran Mamdani and City Council Speaker Julie Menin have reached a deal to abolish NYC's horse carriage industry — a critical breakthrough in a decadeslong, politically fraught effort to ban the tourist attraction. www.politico.com/news/2026/10...

EVERY UK MP needs to read this You are all part of a government that is creating a situation so hostile and unsafe that people are leaving the country This is not an isolated case. You have the power to do something about this.

Some genius at Frankfurt airport has decided the best way to connect the Schengen and non-Schengen terminal in one of the busiest international hubs in the world is a single bus that runs every 15 minutes, thanks Germany

the tech industry fervor over Omarchy is so fucking confusing to me that i'm honestly starting to wonder if it's just money laundering. over TWELVE MILLION DOLLARS for a fascist's dotfiles and bash scripts is patently insane

People shitting on Ted Lasso because it's focused on the women's team now boggles my mind. Like, did you somehow watch the previous three seasons and not pick up a single thing the show was trying to teach you?

"The Big Short" is my favourite horror movie. Recently rewatched it and the parallels between the signs then and the signs now are hard to ignore.

⚒️ With over 220 tunnel kilometres excavated, the completion of the EU co-funded Brenner Base Tunnel is one step closer! 🇦🇹🇮🇹 Miners have now connected Austria and Italy via two main railway tunnels ↓

I have set up a VPN on my TV to stream from the US today because somehow, in the year of our Lord 2026, Norway's national broadcaster still hasn't figured out how to stream sports in 4K.

At this point, I genuinely believe the entire public is being actively gaslit by both the media, and Esther Ghey herself, into forgetting that Brianna Ghey was murdered, by people she knew from school, in real life, who were partly influenced by transphobia, fuelled by the media and politicians.

The drivers who act precious when you call them out for illegally blocking the sidewalk like you’re somehow the one doing something wrong are hilarious

I brace for enshittification as I saw Valve announce a brand new Steam homepage, and they actually just added a bunch of great UX improvements and user-focused features people have asked for. I wish the rest of the tech industry would take some notes from Valve.

I love when international websites insist on a mandatory region/province selector in their shipping info, even though that value is irrelevant for the Norwegian postal system. Then they don't update it for 7 years, so I literally can't select my region since it's not on there.

I regret buying the David Pogue Apple book; it was good in the beginning, up to the first iPhone, but as soon as he ran out of other Apple history books to rip off, it devolved into a scatterbrained collection of bullet points and idiotic takes.

After going increasingly crazy about all my RAM just disappearing to nowhere I have done a deep purge of every electron app on my system (Except 1Password 😩) and replaced them with PWAs, suddenly I have 7GB more ram. I wish the RAM crisis would lead to a revolt against all this electron slop

I wonder how many tokens have been lost to seemingly every single person with a claude subscription vibe coding a claude token usage tracker

Hot take: Artemis has no scientific value it's just the US government doing nationalist showboating like it's 1970s again at the cost of NASA being able to afford to do anything useful

After a week in Amsterdam and dealing with its trams I’ve gained a renewed appreciation for the Bergen Light Rail and its short dwell times, total signal priority, and smooth acceleration

Significant road safety win in Norway! 30 km/h is now the default for built up areas 🚴‍♂️🚶‍♂️ Norway's public roads administration have just turned the way speed limits are set in built up areas on it's head. From now on, traffic engineers now have to meet clear criteria to use any higher speed limit.
