For those in favor of proportional representation, I did some calculations. We have 343 seats. This is what we could have gotten with proportional repr. (depending on "flavor"): Lib - 43.7% - 150 seats CPC - 41.3% - 142 seats NDP & BQ - 6.3% each - 22 seats Green - 1.2% - 0 seats ... ⬇️ #canpoli

You would need 2-3 parties to support any legislation for it to pass, and the probability of the minority CPC government would have grown considerably. Singh and Poilievre would still be MPs because their parties would have assigned them a seat. We would have had elections every year.

That is why I support ranked voting. With ranked voting, you also continue to have "your" representative, who you typically would find acceptable.

(There is typically a threshold, typically 2% or 5%, at which you get no seats.) According to some formula, an additional 7 seats would have to be split between the 4 parties. ... ⬇️

I just heard an NDP ad on the radio in Vancouver. They are lying that Mark Carney said that he would cut healthcare. This lie could be effective here, and many people listen to the radio while driving. Someone needs to make people aware that this is a lie. #canpoli, #cdnpoli, #MarkCarneyforPM

Trump is terrified of (actual) intelligent and savvy businessmen, and this fake-out is a gift to Conservatives that Poilievre ran with. Pierre immediately took to social media, claiming he's the only one that can stand up to Trump. It's all so obvious.
