I have a #reMarkable tablet, which I love, but syncing with #Zotero is alway a little awkward. There are some existing plugins, but none really satisfying. So, together with Claude I created a little plugin to make life a bit easier. Check it out here: github.com/fbkarsdorp/z...

We have bigger models. Bigger conferences. Have our questions become bigger, too? That was the question I posed in my Presidential Address at #ACL2026 in San Diego. (1/6)

A study by Dr Andrea Nini (@andreanini.com) shows that a grammar-based approach can match or outperform advanced AI systems in author identification. LambdaG uses grammatical patterns instead of large AI models, providing comparable accuracy, transparency, and lower costs. 🔗 doi.org/10.1057/s415...

After years in preprint, our paper is finally out! We introduce LambdaG, a simple new authorship verification method that matches complex neural approaches. This supports the theory of grammar as a behavioural biometric (like a signature or gait). www.nature.com/articles/s41... #nlp #llm #forensic

Consider a noun phrase formed by a noun, an adjective, a numeral and a demonstrative. There are 24 possible orders but only some of them have been attested when examining the preferred order in world languages. Some researchers hypothesize that there is a hard constraint banning certain orders.

How good are LLMs at identifying and tagging metaphors in text? Turns out, pretty good! In our new study, we ask 10 different open- and closed-source LLMs to label all metaphorical expressions in a dataset of film reviews using <Metaphor> and </Metaphor> XML tags. arxiv.org/abs/2509.24866
