The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

The PDC just handed more influence to rich and powerful special interests with nearly no warning. Control of the state Supreme Court is on the line. Initiatives attacking fundamental rights are on the ballot. This is a travesty.
My phone was blowing up over this last night. (Progressives are pissed!) One potential outcome could be lots more last-minute money pouring into local independent expenditure campaigns, since the $7,500 limit no longer applies.
This needs to stop now. @governorferguson.bsky.social are you going to enforce some no-mask laws any time soon?
Yesterday in #Burien, #ICE agents were observed using AR-15-style weapons during the abduction of a community member. Today, they pointed a pistol at a rapid response volunteer, who had been observing from over 20ft away. #ICE is quickly becoming more violent www.facebook.com/share/p/18wA...

King county has one of the most efficient, safe and secure voting systems in the US. This is intimidation and nothing else.
The U.S. Department of Justice informed King County Elections Director Julie Wise this week that the administration is sending election monitors for the Nov. 3 midterms. It’s unclear what role federal election monitors will play or how many there will be in King County on Election Day.

I believe Skerritt hosted the first private fundraiser in Seattle for then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in his home, along with a couple of book launch parties for local authors. I saw him out at arts events pretty frequently around town. He made Seattle better by being a good neighbor.

Former council member Sara Nelson keeps on failing.
This will be in Fizz today, but I also reported it on the Seattle Nice we recorded Wednesday: North Seattle Neighbors, the PAC that's supporting District 5 council candidate Julie Kang, returned a $30,000 contribution to Seafor, the pass-through group created by former councilmember Sara Nelson. 1/

It’s important not to understate how few homeless RV residents will likely be able to obtain a permit under this regime. Also, the council made it clear that it doesn't see RV/trailer living — including by folks who aren't homeless — as a legitimate form of housing in Seattle.
NEW: The Seattle City Council just passed legislation, that while presented as a permitting program, will effectively ban homeless people living in RVs and trailers on city streets. The city doesn't even have a safe lot open yet. Read in @thestranger.com: www.thestranger.com/news/seattle...

I am APPALLED. What a craven, hateful piece of legislation. People in difficult situations need HELP, not to be held to higher standards and more draconian punishments than their wealthier neighbors.
The legislation passes on the vote I predicted, with only Lin, Foster, and Rinck voting no. Strauss, Kettle, Hollingsworth, Rivera, Saka, and Juarez all voted yes.
