Justices Sotomayor and Kagan have betrayed the LGBTQIA+ community. They may not have been able to stop it, but their dissent would’ve been meaningful. This will cause irreparable harm to so many young people. #SupremeCourt #ConversionTherapy

The national guard has been activated in Minnesota. The Trump administration has called it an act of insurrection. Welcome to the 2nd American Civil War. It doesn’t get easier from here.

Stephen Miller, who wants the U.S. to steal Greenland and shake down Latin America, says: ”We live in a world … that is governed by force, that is governed by power. These are the iron laws of the world since the beginning of time.” That‘s a criminal pretending that a civilized world is impossible.

I’m not sure how I missed this one, but it’s funny, isn’t it? The woman who went on national television and said that she didn’t anticipate the level of capitulation we’ve seen from the media and others to this administration is married to a man who is a partner at a law firm that’s capitulating…

I’m actually really tired of everyone’s obsession with the Epstein files. We know Trump is listed in them, we don’t need them to be released to know that. But what’s really bothering me is that everyone thinks this is going to be his downfall. It’s not. The impeachable offenses are countless.

He is not the “head of the government”. He’s the head of a fascist regime hellbent on taking down our government, and the American people along with it. He doesn’t care if we remain number one in anything other than wealth disparity.

Pete Buttigieg@petebuttigieg.bsky.social

America cannot long remain free, nor first among nations, if it becomes the kind of place where universities are dismantled because they don't align politically with the current head of the government.

Honestly though, fuck Melinda Gates. She and her husband, along with every other American billionaire, are complicit in practically every problem the world is facing today.

What is a nation supposed to do when its leader is publicly committing impeachable offenses on a daily basis and the impeachment process is utterly broken due to slightly more than half of the nation's Congress being members of a cult dedicated to destroying rule of law

I think we should have work requirements for the presidency. Limits on golf trips, a mandatory amount of hours worked per week, and clearly defined metrics for their success. If they fail to meet these requirements, they lose their job and the benefits that come with it.

Mrs. Betty Bowers@mrsbettybowers.bsky.social

It’s odd that work requirements for benefits was supported by the laziest president in history.

I don’t understand how people don’t believe that #ACAB. If most were decent people, there would be so much internal pushback on the atrocities committed by the police, that the system would change on its own. Police departments attract the very people who want to be in positions of power. 1/2

They choose to be cops because it allows them to violently subjugate other people, and you can’t convince me otherwise because if it weren’t the case, our system of policing would be much less hostile to the people it’s supposedly meant to protect. 2/2

So many videos are circulating of ICE agents acting with cruelty and aggression. Behavior that eerily mirrors the “domestic terrorism” they claim to oppose. No one is forcing them to act this way; it’s a choice.

And Clinton wasn’t exactly an example of a perfect human being. How far we’ve fallen…

Heather Turiello@heatherturiello.bsky.social

While Clinton was in office, I worked in Big Consulting. We published a book on TQM in Govt with a Case Study of Bill's process improvement efforts in Arkansas as the Gov. We sent him a signed copy of the book. The White House returned it because they couldn't accept gifts worth more than $25.

Just had a debate with my aunt which highlighted for me the importance of this message: If you’re aren’t concerned about them coming for immigrants, and trans people, and gay people, and born citizens of minority descent, don’t be surprised when they come for you and you stand alone.

That’s the thing, the President isn’t supposed to be able to unilaterally do almost anything. There are distinct limits to what can be done by executive order, and Trump has crossed that line almost every day that he’s been in office. The fucker should have been behind bars months (years) ago.

And any sitting member of Congress or the Senate who is unwilling to impeach and remove said President is also betraying their oath of office to defend and uphold the constitution. They are unfit to hold their positions and should be removed as well.

Steven Beschloss@stevenbeschloss.bsky.social

A man who holds the title of President of the United States, who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, who then says he doesn’t know if he’d uphold the Constitution, is unfit to be president and should be removed.

If you told me the sole item on Trump's domestic policy agenda was to find every endangered animal in the United States and euthanize it, it would make as much sense to me as the current Trump domestic policy agenda, which seems to have no relationship whatsoever to anything any normal person wants

There is nothing that Trump or his administration could possibly do that will get me to bend the knee. I am not afraid. I am not backing down. I will never surrender to authoritarianism. He will die eventually, and I’ll know that I was on the right side of history all along.

Even if you (wrongly) believe that some immigrants lack due process rights, what’s to stop the government from claiming that *you* are an undocumented immigrant; removing you to El Salvador; citing an “administrative error”; and refusing to do anything to bring you back? The answer is due process.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

“If they make it in the U.S., they’re not gonna pay any tariffs” We quite literally do not have the means of producing everything we need here in the U.S. Even if we boost domestic manufacturing, most raw goods would still need to be imported—and would be subject to tariffs…

HASSETT: If you look at the latest jobs report, it was way, way above even what I expected TAPPER: You know the jobs data was from before the "liberation day"

It’s kinda hilarious honestly. His supposed goal in all of this tariff chaos is to make American companies bring manufacturing back to the U.S., but nobody outside of the U.S. will buy anything produced here if (1) it costs significantly more due to tariffs and (2) Trump is still President 🤷🏼‍♂️

The only person in a “negative productivity job in government” is Elon Musk himself. I agree, he should go work in manufacturing. He would certainly be contributing more to society in that case.

I’ve been disappointed by quite a lot of things happening lately. But I don’t know if I’m more disappointed by anything more than our institutions of higher education so willingly handing over their students to a fascist regime, and betraying every ideal they’ve supposedly represented for so long.
