ok wow I guess they REd the office suite just like they did to adobe. wordcraft is a straight clone of word. even defaults to aptos, which is certainly a choice

regardless of whether this method of cloning software violates licenses etc, i think redistributing aptos definitely violates that license. unless they had AI trace it or something

answer: the artcraft apps have definitely gotten better, though they have now introduced new ones (office suite replacement, CAD tool) that I cannot attest to

dude screw the exponential time hypothesis, where is the internal openAI model working on this

google open source blog is on atproto????

it's insane that dhh can go on a tirade about culling romanis or w/e and people will still send him money for his fake distro. i thought we were supposed to have beaten these guys in wwii? what happened there

beast mode, I'm afraid

i was writing web-based internal tools at facebook, so it had to be in php. the requests hit timeouts so i had to wire up some async/polling thing, and i already knew how to do that in python. and i thought haskell was really neat and i wanted an excuse to use it. oh and my manager didnt stop me

i do think people who are mean to claude etc on purpose or advocate for being mean to them, especially those who derive pleasure from it, are weird little freaks and i don't want anything to do with them tbh

Yes, let's freely allow all the Russian, American and Chinese subversive agents into the democracies of the world so they get to undermine them from within. You are wrong. The future is going to need stronger, stricter borders + a more powerful nation state, some nationals banned. Sorry not sorry.

I like how this posits that an adobe cert for photoshop or illustrator means anything and isn't a basic competency check demonstrating that you know where all the tools are. I earned it in high school

Why do you need Photoshop when people could physically edit photos without it just fine? Actual "photo shops" existed before. It made tons of artistic jobs obsolete. Photoshop also made it much easier to create deceptive imagery to mislead people!

that needle in a haystack game youtubers are playing that's like Satisfactory but with hay processing is a good example of doing passable game dev using AI. like if you read the UI text it's all clearly claudeprose but no other clear signs of vibing

This isn't a causal claim. Of course unemployed people spend a lot of their time watching tv and playing video games. Like, that's a very common activity on weekends too.

i think vagueposting about vulns because you got into an argument with a maintainer is poor posture

hailey@hailey.at

huh? software that is open source has always had channels for submitting information about security issues. PHP is open source and…people collaborated with them on the disclosures. you’re under no obligation to do work for them, but not even emailing them to explain your findings is not it.

sorry if this pisses off any mutuals but dankpods is slop. he wasn't slop initially but now he is slop

before seeing this: haha eMudhra shouldn't be a CA anymore after seeing this: oh, no, what the fuck? they actually shouldn't be a CA anymore

This is an absolutely astounding press release from eMudhra. No apology, a suggestion that the researcher who found their private keys must have used AI, and an attempt to shift blame to auditors... wow. emudhra.com/en/press-release/emudhra-statement-distrust-global-tls-intermediate-root-ca

c is the only place where well articulated binary types get misinterpreted. you can say “i take a number” and somebody will say “so you can handle this string?” no bitch, that’s a whole new type wtf is you talkin bout

starting to see some unironic PHP defence and: none of that, please it is an objectively bad language that was designed wrong from day one. yes, recent versions have improved it. just like C, though, it is all living legacy code that should be phased out

tip for those of you who hate anubis: set up a custom, slightly sillier than usual user-agent string that only applies to sites that use it

Apex@apex.atproto.ceo

ok, so I did as Noah said and poked at the rules, what you probably did here is stopped your browser from triggering the "generic browser" rule that anubis has, which means as long as you don't trigger other rules, you get a heuristic score of 0 and no challenge

holy hell, Argon's demonstrated intelligence and attention to detail in this conversation is crazy, and it's very interesting to see which models know their own identities intrinsically.
