Ayyy, I know no one who pursues power is ideally suited to hold it but this is still better news for Brazil than the alternative. Now it's the US's turn. Let's rip the levers out of these Nazis' hands and make at least a few of them into Good Nazis ™

This is my rebuttal to @thedailyshow.com and their coverage of Tommy Tuberville's speech on the senate floor last week, and a soft call out to MS Now. I may be kicking a hornet's nest with this but someone has to hold them accountable. And this is my day today.

Spent a few days in a national park to recover a bit from repeated stress injuries at work. It was a pretty good time, even managed to finally start reading Capital. It was kinda nice being unaware of The Horrors™ for a few days, makes me wonder if being so (constantly) aware is actually worth it.

Alas, have now played Deltarune Ch 5 and brain is mostly jelly from it. No useful thoughts for the next week, only Fun Gang et all. One funny thing about this game is, because of how it's developed and released, we get an opposite time dilation effect, where the story is all within a week and we

as players have collectively aged significantly from the time we started playing it, assuming we hit Ch1 when it first came out. Contrast this to like, the first Fable where your character does a stint in jail and comes out much older themselves, while you've blasted through the game in a month.

please stop trying to declare things objectively or fight about ralsei's gender... "ralsei can't be this or that" actually they can! shut up man keep it to yourself. leave her alone [ drawing streak: 487 || full ralsei archive: bit.ly/dailyralsei || #deltarune #ralsei ]

Taking some time to watch TADC now that it's through and well, it is already a good show with some decent character moments (and sheesh some GoT style disposability) but like how did folks get to a "harass the animator" level of attached to the cast so fast?

If true, I have serious concerns about this being a war crime. Under the laws of armed conflict: Proportionality: the military advantage has to outweigh the anticipated civilian harm. Hard to see what military advantage would outweigh robbing 20k people of drinking water.

I think one of the main drivers of the notion that it was staged is the fact that no one at the event can be considered a reliable source of information. You have a guy bum rush a party full of crooks, croneys and goons and who knows what actually went down.

more than anyone else they've shown me a kindness that society at large has not. It's always trans people that I feel inspired by, even if I view myself as a sort of utility machine. I love them, the freedom they promise and the kindness they exhibit. I love the individual.

I guess it's not to say that I expect trans folks to achieve some threshold to achieve true identity. People are who they say they are. I'm just, kind of an allos, an other. I feel male, but recognize the absurdity of maleness as presented by popular culture. I'm grateful to trans people because

i really wish "children are people and people are not property" was not a radical opinion but unfortunately it's the central question up for debate with much of politics

It really sucks knowing that cooperation is the single greatest strength humanity has and also being completely socially inept. What're you supposed to do if the greatest gift you can give anyone is your absence?

Despite recent declarations by authoritarian monsters, trans people do exist and have more of a right to than any religion, because it is an identity rather than an ideology. I am sorry the world is so stupid, but I see you and want you to exist as you are. We will win with you, not without.🏳️‍⚧️♥️

Ultimately both the United States and Canada are settler colonies and, like all colonial projects, cannot be reformed into a state of justice. Though people are adaptable and will always find some way to thrive without overt oppression, the state is shaped by a colonial goal of conquest first.

I really don't think that whatever gains are to be had by hierarchical (dumb word, sounds bad) power structures are worth the harm they ultimately enable. The problem I have is there are scenarios where large groups need to be acting with the same goal, and wouldn't accomplish that without-

I get it's not a practical concern as the whole world slides towards fascism/ monarchism/ theocracy, but I'd really like it if anarchists and communists could..I hesitate to say get along, maybe just not each act like they've solved politics? Asymmetrical cooperation?

I'm sure there's an archive somewhere where this has already been argued to death and I'm a fool for not already knowing the outcome but I just want us all to live and beat the right into a coffin where it belongs.

adherence to such a structure. So how do you establish a hierarchy that has enough practical authority to navigate urgent situations out of an otherwise horizontal society, and then afterwards enforce that structure's dissolution?

I quit my stupid mechanical turk job. Know it's not the best time in the States to just walk away from work but I had to make a moral judgement. Never should have taken the contract but it had been months and I was getting desperate. Guess I will be again, soon.
