Lula: "We had to overcome foreign interference through digital platforms, which we will have to regulate. A crime in the digital world must be treated the same as a crime in the real world. We cannot have monstrous companies earning millions... not paying taxes... wanting to steer elections."

A big difference between US and Brazil is that Lula offered progressive things, started BRICS, etc. What are dems going to offer? In Brazil they met message with message. What is the dems message? A few of them want med4all but most don't. Most support Isreal. They all support nato imperialism. 🤷‍♂️

It's really important to pay attention to the fact that Lula beat the fascist candidate not by compromising and trying to meet fascist voters in the middle, but by sticking to his guns, promising prosecutions for election interference, and mobilising his own voters to turn out in greater numbers.

like this? this is the whole logic of deplatforming, en toto. if you were wondering why center-right liberals and blackshirts were horrified by deplatforming as a strategy and quailed about 'cancel culture', this is why: because it works.

What's striking to me are the rules of engagement and the methodology of action here, which more or less is predicated on burying liberal delusions about "debate" or the "marketplace of ideas". The rules were ultimately very simple: amplify your own message and suppress your opponent's.

I’m not a political journalist, so was gladly surprised at the community I found here last night. To Americans anxious about the upcoming elections, a key thing we learned in Brazil that might help you: DO NOT engage with the far-right online. Don’t share rage bait. Amplify your people. Ignore them.

Macron government banned protests. Tried to shut down social media. Mobilized the armed Police. Fascist thugs mobilized their militias to support the police. And yet they came out to the streets to protest. This is what 'resistance' looks like.

Marxist analysis begins with material conditions, class relations and institutional power—not Western liberalism as the default. Scrutinize corporate diversity, culture wars, medical markets, state ideology and media through the lens of capital and class struggle. #Marxism

Marxism isn't moralist. The criticism of capitalism isn't that it's evil. It's that it is itself subverted thru the contradiction of individual ownership & socialized production. socialized production sets the stage for socialized ownership. logically, national level production should be socialized

yet even in socialism there is still individual production. nationalizing individual production is not something Marxists advocate for. Why? Because that would introduce a contradiction instead of resolving one. Everyone needs iron, but not everyone needs iron horse shoes.

Marxism is a scientific model of social development. It doesn't tell us to do perfect communism immediately or do nothing at all. It's just an analysis using dialectical processes instead of metaphysical ones and applying that to history. Check out more here: www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...

We tried "everyone is entitled to an opinion" for three straight decades and all we have to show for it is four thousand cases of measles and a death cult running the government. It's time for people who don't know what they're talking about to shut the fuck up.

i just read the average usage of this site went down 30% this year which is actually cool for like a social media place but not great for like having to sell stuff in a capitalist economy where my livelihood depends on spreading my work to new audiences

i wonder what percentage of the electorate now understands that this man and maybe 75 other people like him are actively trying to destroy our lives. that he is the biggest national security threat we have faced, even moreso than bin laden or whoever. its got to be dawning on more and more people

NEW: Elon Musk gave his super PAC $76 million in just two weeks of October, and more than half of its new candidate spending went to one race: the Texas Senate fight against James Talarico. He’s now given more than $445 million this cycle, far more than he spent electing Trump.

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.

Booms and bursts are not the system malfunctioning. It's a necessary part of capitalist systems. It's a result of a framework that demands infinite growth in a closed system. That's why China hasn't had a market crash in 40 years and we've had one every 8-10 years
