Either this doesn't work so well or everyone in my professional network also thinks Bryan Johnson is ridiculous. Could go either way, really.

🚨🚨🚨Trump just made another comment about how his “two big monsters” will make history next week. “So, I wonder if I should say this. I’d like a little advice from my two people, my two big monsters. My two monsters are going to be the biggest stars in the country in a week.”

Conor Friedersdorf's job is to write the same column over and over again regardless of how bad the original, or how stale it is now. If his job was something different he'd have been fired by now.

Eric voiced characters for Star Trek Prodigy and Star Trek Lower Decks and basically everything else you’ve ever heard including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and so so many more. A lovely human. Sending love to his friends and family. ❤️

Just seeing on Instagram from his family that voice actor Eric Bauza suddenly passed away. Horrible news.

I live in a rural town and, like, I don't know how to tell you this, but the girls play on the boys team and vice versa all the time because otherwise we don't have enough players for a game and it's literally always fine so stop being weirdos about kids sports and just let trans kids play.

Congrats to Lula on overcoming Mark Zuckerberg and Donald Trump to defeat Hospital Pervert Jr., even as his opposition literally blocked off roads and turned off bus service during election day. Fascists are scary but they are always, 100% of the time, ultimately gigantic fucking losers.

Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.

Early this year, I visited Ingram, a TX town of ~1,900, to check out a tip. The area was starting to recover from its worst flood in a century. But as Latino workers drove to jobsites to help rebuild, the tipster said, a cop in a black Dodge Charger kept stopping them ... 🧵

I just don't get why the cheapest battery for an ebike that people recommend costs as much as the cheapest bike that people recommend.

Politicians like Josh Turek are the reason we have one party that's full of bloodthirsty fascists and one party people assume are just as bad. Cowards like that always do more damage to the Democratic coalition than their vote is worth.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

The Sixth Sense is a wild movie from Toni Collette’s perspective. Her kid is obviously haunted but hey the ghost is doing free therapy on him and that’s probably a win all things considered.

I am already bad at telling characters apart, so Orphan Black is a challenging show to watch. "Wait so was that Jack, or Chad?" "I don't think so." "Were either of those names right?" "I don't think so."

We built the torment nexus from the famous novel "Don't Build the Torment Nexus.' We were shocked and dismayed when the company decided to sell it as some sort of nexus of torment.

The correct position for Democrats moving forward is "the office of the Presidency has been constitutionally vacant since January 2025 and none of the executive actions taken since then carry the power of law."

Our favorite pizza place in the '80s was Godfather's. Their sauce was just canned tomato paste and salt and their crust tasted like cardboard. It was so much better than our other choices.

a 25 year old could not comprehend how bad the dining options were in the median American town in 1996

Home cooking is also much better today; although that may just be because I am a much better cook than either of my parents, which is a skill I gained in the last 15 years.

Social media loves talking about how everything is getting worse. But what’s something that you’ve seen get _better_ in your lifetime?

I swear that every day that I weigh my options between electrifying my old bike and buying a cheap new ebike, the cheap ebikes get cheaper and batteries get more expensive
