It's become a Halloween ritual for me to listen to The Secret History of Hollywood's podcast series about the Universal monster movies (imagine Tom Hiddleston reading to you by a campfire), and they just made that series available as a single 8-hour episode: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
For a very limited time - especially for Halloween - hear the complete story of the Universal Horror movies
Every chill, every thrill, every tingle of the spine, and every story…
A UNIVERSE OF HORRORS - available now wherever you get podcasts. Search for THE SECRET HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD

There is a wonderful podcast called 'Secret history of Hollywood '
They have a massive series of deepdives into the Warner Brothers and creating Warner bros.
Well worth a listen for any cinephile.
Val Lewton's horror cycle for RKO never ceases to delight me. I rewatched ISLE OF THE DEAD--plague overcomes an island household, superstition overcomes reason. Prescient. Karloff is chilling.
Apart from Cat People, is there a particular Lewton you're fond of? And why? www.imdb.com/list/ls54130...
Anyone who is interested in Val Lewton really needs to listen to Secret History of Hollywood's SHADOWS: The Val Lewton Story. It's a masterful podcast, brilliantly produced, thoroughly research; it's lengthy, but nothing short of a full, exploratory biography. www.attaboyclarence.com/the-secret-h...

probably the Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly Holmes & Watson, but I had just showed my mother the classic @attaboyclarence.com Brighton Strangler review earlier that day, so when Canterbury came up early in the film it sent us into absolute conniptions of laughter that the film definitely did not earn
@attaboyclarence.com has the greatest radio voice you’ve ever heard, hands down, and his Val Lewton series in particular is amazing. Happy birthday to a gentleman and a scholar!
Happy 50th birthday to the founder of our Poirot feast, the incomparable Adam!
You can (and should) follow Adam and his other podcast at @attaboyclarence.com to celebrate 🥳

By my calculations I spoke with 24 comedians - so even at a 50% success rate means Series 7 is locked in for @bonmotpodcast.bsky.social :-)
Everyone was so generous with their time considering they were busy gigging.
Thanks @machcomedyfest.bsky.social for creating such a spirit of togetherness.
FOUND! Lost ending to Universal’s Dracula (1931)!
This epilogue, with Edward van Sloan (Van Helsing) was something I’d recently read about, but was unaware the audio had been found. Now ‘Chelsea Rialto Studios’ have matched the audio with a mute 16mm print.
Watch here on threads…
I don't know if you listen to all their other podcasts or not. But in case you don't or if anyone else is reading this, see also:

“Arsenic and Old Lace,” Joseph Kesselring's famous dark comedy, opened on Broadway on January 10, 1941, at the Fulton Theatre.
Cast: Josephine Hull, Jean Adair, Boris Karloff, Allyn Joslyn.
I'm the type of person who reads movie and TV reviews for things I don't plan to watch. But with things like PratChat, I like to read the book first and then listen to the episode. I do the same with The Labours of Hercule, which covers ITV's Poirot TV series.
They have contributed to the superb Criterion disc, but can I (again) plug @attaboyclarence.com fantastic multi-part deep, deep dive into Val Lewton's RKO horror cycle? Seek it out wherever you get your podcasts!
It’s a piece filled with delicious atmosphere, beautifully shot, like Lewton's other RKO productions, far greater than the sum of its parts and guaranteed to remain lodged in your mind long after viewing. My Letterboxd review of I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE #FilmSkyboxd.it/bXsd8n
I first saw this in the excellent @attaboyclarence.com (SECRET HISTORY OF HOLLYWOOD) film club (check out the Patreon). It’s really good.

If you've never heard these before, pounce on them a werewolf out of a darkened alley because they are *superb*. Secret History of Hollywood is as good as it gets.
Oh cool, The Secret History of Hollywood podcast is republishing its slate of episodes about the history of Universal horror movies (these episodes have become perennial listening for me during this time of year): podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...
