Loved that movie. I went in blind with only the vaguest praise from my timeline and didn’t expect it to be so (intentionally) hilarious.

Writer and illustrator H.A. Rey -- co-creator of Curious George 🐵 with Margret Rey -- was born #OTD in 1898. He also made an enormous contribution to amateur astronomy, bringing the joy of the night sky to countless readers, as I wrote for @nautil.us a while back: nautil.us/readers-love...

My coworkers pruned an oak today and it was the gift that kept on giving. Exhibit A: observe, how much ducks LOVE acorns. What started with one curious dawdling mallard became ~ 20

For the last day of #InverteFest I give you one of my favorite #spiders! I love seeing Sierra Dome Spiders, the woods in the old site of Never Never Land at Point Defiance Park were full of them. I love their intricate and unique individual markings, and how the threads of their sheet webs glitter.

“Lost media” no longer! I finally got permission to upload “AL’S BRAIN,” an 11-minute educational 3-D film attraction which ran at the Orange County and Western Washington fairs, and hasn’t been seen publicly since 2009. You can watch the whole thing here: youtu.be/2xujU87ZHt4

They arrived en masse after we kept log sections of a problem tree that had to be cut down, and their offspring have been slowly pupating and emerging ever since.

A hibernaculum is a comfy place for animals to hibernate, and here at Nobody Nursery I’ve built one for reptiles and amphibians, with a rock garden on top of it. . . .

Donated an Anna’s Hummingbird to the Natural History Museum at University of Puget Sound yesterday! Poor guy hit one of the big ground floor windows of the science building. Now he can help their collection of knowledge.

To the “or just use Waterfox” crowd: lots of necessity sites (employment/education/payroll/etc) aren’t compatible or optimized for many alternative browsers, so this fix is still awesome if you need to use Chrome sometimes.

We did not address nudity in photos and have received a couple recently. For the purposes of this assignment, nudity is discouraged. Should it be unavoidable, the only way it would be considered is if in silhouette at dusk. Although this defeats the blank gaze preferred look. So keep yer clothes on.
