Okay, so the GOP is going to shut down the government because they don’t want to inconvenience ICE by requiring judicial warrants, targeted enforcement, no masks, and adhering to use-of-force standards? I guess those things really kill the whole ‘Gestapo’ vibe.

The DHS response to questions about this story is bizarre for a number of reasons, but especially because the article is about how they detained a citizen. “ICE has higher detention standards than most U.S. prisons that hold actual U.S. citizens.”

Wow, just say it, Mike.

Mike Johnson comes out against additional guardrails on ICE as Democrats call for it. “I think there's a lot of Democrats playing games right now with national security and with law enforcement. And I think it's dangerous. Ice is doing what ice is designed to do by its very name.”

Courts have upheld the First Amendment right to record and document law enforcement operations for decades now.

I think it is probably a bad idea to put clearly unhinged, angry psychopaths in federal law enforcement positions.

Using imagery online of the shooting by an ICE agent in Minneapolis, we’ve created an animated sequence which highlights the approximate positioning of officers and vehicles at the scene. The red dot represents the agent who fired the shots. Yellow dots are other agents who arrived at the scene.

You and your wife drop your 6-year-old off at school. You just moved here. You see ICE terrorizing your new neighbors. You film them, as is your legal right. Your wife complies with orders. She is then shot in the head. You still have to pick up your child later today. This could be you.

FIFA should take away WC matches here next year. Have all matches played in Canada and Mexico. The Olympic Committee should remove the games from this shithole country. And, take the MAGA/NAZI flagpoles from our House with you. TACO is a human stain.

Here's an idea. Dem Governors & Mayors should be ordering their local law enforcement to arrest any & all unidentified and masked alleged ICE agents. If a random guy in a mask grabbed someone and threw them in a vehicle, we'd call that a kidnapping. Why not here? 1/2

The Minnesota shooter apparently used data broker websites to find the home addresses of the people he shot and murdered. Congress has had years to do something about data brokers and they've sided with the tech lobby over and over again. Their inaction is deadly.

Yet JD Vance says it’s too expensive to spend a couple hundred mil to hire enough immigration judges to give due process to people before sending them to a concentration camp

AOC: It is almost unthinkable why Senate Democrats would vote to to hand the few pieces of leverage that we have away for free when we've been sent here to protect social security, protect medicaid, and protect medicare.

SCOOP: Now that Linda McMahon is confirmed/sworn in as secretary, Trump will be imminently issuing an executive order eliminating the Department of Education. I’ve obtained a draft of an email that McMahon will be sending to staff re: the EO and the department’s “final mission”. Here is a portion:

Here’s the thing with “looking at the code” at Treasury. Depending on what you’re looking at, that’s a mess of COBOL - a computer language hasn’t been taught in decades. If they’re really plan to push changes to the mainframes, that’s like suggesting edits to the Voynich Manuscript.

Blinding the news media is definitely part of the govt takeover strategy. I experienced this firsthand with Musk’s running of Tesla, Twitter and Space X. Eliminate the press office. Ignore press queries.

The NTSB says it will no longer email news outlets or reporters with notifications of upcoming press conferences, including those on plane crashes in Washington and Philadelphia. Instead, all notifications will be made on X. We're filing a FOIA to find out more about the change in policy.
