Manchester City's financial rule-breaking is robbing Brighton, among others, of the spotlight they deserve. That's one of the worst things about cheating in sport, it costs you the glory you'll never get back.

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

A freak show that emphasised the farce of the Premier League's current unreality The response of City fans, which does complicate some of the discussion I think they are "victims" but that's harder when you're revelling in it (before the win) www.independent.co.uk/sport/footba...

Basically everyone associated with City denies everything and doubles, triples, quadruples down. Maresca the latest. They do not have to do this. There is zero remorse. There is zero accountability. They all know the situation, and they are lying or are wilfully ignorant at every single turn.

Ireland is pushing a motion to ban Israel from FIFA and UEFA. It has made JD Vance very mad. It's time to remove Israel from world sport, don't you agree?

Not proud of it, but I once got creative and registered a team of 20-year-olds in a U10s tournament. Other coaches kept saying things like "you can't use them" and "they have beards" and "I think that's Myles Lewis-Skelly." But whatever happened behind the scenes, the game is won on the pitch.

“Ben there’s a lot of young players in the team. I want you to captain the lads tonight and set a good example.” “No worries boss leave it with me.” Got to love Benjamin White.

A half-time show is an anti-football abomination. Players have gone through their career used to normal break. That rhythm disrupted, in the biggest game of their careers. It's of a piece with absurdly high ticket prices and Balogun controversy - Fifa ushering this through.

There were prominent journalists and pundits who didn’t want Bellingham to start for England or even to go to the World Cup altogether: who wanted the England team to be built around Cole Palmer or Phil Foden, both of whom had been out of form for several months. Thankfully Tuchel didn’t care.
