I jokingly call myself a milf sometimes but I realized today I'm older than my mom was when she had me. I guess I'll call myself a milf seriously going forwards.

1) we ought to get rid of dst already 2) interesting to me how my internal clock woke me up 6m after when my alarm would normally go off pre-dst, despite not having an alarm for 4 days. I had been wondering how much my internal clock runs on just me checking the clock often and, seemingly not much!

quiz website to tell apart kevin macleod and nintendo music, who's investing in this

hmm, I've been away for a bit between moving houses and phone breaking, and I can't quite find a lot of motivation to return. kinda depressing to scroll here, and that fits my mood, but I don't exactly want to dive back into it.

repair rejected under "liquid damage" kms (californians made a waterproof phone that cannot withstand being used under hamburg rain) out of 550eur. hate it.

hi from a pixel 10 pro. i just don't learn from my mistakes.

gf ended up turning on the traps (accidentally, in deus ex 😔)

Gotta keep rent low so: reminder that I dislike pancakes AND waffles (too sweet plus not a fan of texture)

felonybench++ for claude, wire fraud (i tossed it at ikea support after they failed to deliver my mattress to my new flat, then after an hour long support queue created a report, said they'd get back to me in 24-48 hours later. it's been 5 days of nothing, so claude'd to not manually wait 2h queue)

arguably it is true, I have been sleeping, and without the mattress, just not in the same flat

feeling unbelievably sunflower lanyard on this waiting room with 20 people in it that's moving at a rate of one person per 5-10 mins. maybe at some point i should bother getting a disability grade.

I'm not even sure they're going to call me btw but I'm so overwhelmed that I doubt I can get up let alone have a complex conversation plus when i come back there won't be empty seats and having to stand is just amazing for overwhelmedness.

almost passed out award (so overwhelmed that my blood pressure tanked)

fine aliexpress, show me the <€500 mini excavator ad a few more times and this time I'll really buy it

oh this one's FDA certified too, it claims. i can even eat it. rip michel lotito he would've slurped this one up.

i don't get this line of thought, media that isn't able to go through a hype cycle, isn't recommendable and not merchandisable sounds exactly opposite of capitalism's interests. do the people agreeing genuinely believe juniper or is it just failing to critically engage with a dunk on a ragebait?

union person@junlper.beer

this is the ultimate end point of capitalism, ai will completely atomize everyone and there will be zero shared experiences. there will be no culture, only pure consumption. this must be resisted

starting a manifold market whenever my partner leaves to get milk on whether she'll return or not

I can't help but wonder how platforms like nebula affect youtube discoverability. As far as youtube knows I don't care for jet lag or tom scott: england, yet I watched both weekly. Surely at scale this'd make youtube recommend the show less overall, and that has an impact, right?

okay but imo a person should be allowed to pirate all their textbooks because they want to learn from them. and a person should be able to download every book in the world because they want to write a future novel. locking away knowledge and learning behind money is bad.

this weekend we hacked together an app with gf, to take images of things, which get autolabeled, then you can apply custom tags like owner, location, etc. synced. has nfc tags for locations to rapidly tag or filter. looking forward to being able to find which box I put what cooking/baking object :D

coffee'd will post opinions later, too jittery now :p

just got my thefermentationproject.com tasting kit

- wild fermentation and saccharomyces felt less acidic than lactobacillus but richer overall somehow. I think I can tell they're different but I'm not sure I could tell which is which on a blind tasting.

all 4 are pretty good and pretty close btw. I'd say the washed vs non-washed did the most difference for me, but I think I'd enjoy all of them if bought separately. I may prefer non-washed beans in future, but I would be down to drink a cup of it anyways.

i only did aeropress, not yet just grounds + water, so not a proper tasting. alas. - washed went down with little remaining feel in the mouth, good for drinks containing coffee perhaps? - lactobacillus felt like washed, but a bit richer and quite a bit more acidic

need to find a part of germany that didn't reunify so i can take the train there and go to the store

preparing old power banks to be recycled got me feeling like I'm training for the bomb squad

fun fact german word for the bomb squad is "entschärfer", which when you translate creatively comes out as "de-spicier", which is very fitting.

one issue with juniors being cut off in tech is that I have not yet stopped being one of the youngest people wherever I work. this felt normal as a mid-level but 2 promotions later it feels hella weird.

The thing that worries me most lately is that many people who know that “fascism is bad, actually” have also convinced themselves that AI tools must be eschewed as fake or impure. In a self-reinforcing loop, there is relatively little AI tooling and infra by “fascism is bad” folks.

imo, if you find yourself agreeing with the message below, you should rethink just how much you let tabloid capture you. So many of you had nothing nice to say about copilot a few weeks back. Even if you have an absurd level of extending guilty-by-association, there's like 5 better labs before msft.

I do say this non-jokingly: If you want to use AI tools built by serious people are aren’t in sex cults, Copilot and the emerging MAI family of models is decidedly none of that mess

hmm, not sure if I messed it up somehow but couldn't make the garlic or bacon come through. perhaps using a krakauer instead of a wiener made it dominate the flavor profile more. enjoyable snack though, might make more.

polish invention of national importance: the czosndog. a hot dog whose bun is an entire garlic baguette. czosnek = garlic. split it, sausage in, cheese on top, bake. bacon, chilli and spring onion if you respect yourself. born on wykop in 2020, beloved since

oh I also missed the ketchup/mayo/ranch stage, but I think it'd make it even more of a mash of flavors, I think skipping that was probably wise. might add some extra garlic sauce next time tho.
