Hey @jaketapper.bsky.social - maybe you want to write a book about how Donald Trump is a decades-long serial rapist.

Not a real professor, but I used to play one in everyday life. No, it's not a Cuban, goddamn it. It's Dominican. Stop the world; I want to get off. I block all engagement farming accounts, no matter their stripe.

I lived in a tiny town in eastern CT in the 80s and we had a solid array of local restaurants - one Greek-American Surf & Turf was especially great. In my midwest podunk town in the 90s we had an amazing local sub shop and numerous supper clubs, plus all the regular chains.
a 25 year old could not comprehend how bad the dining options were in the median American town in 1996
Disappointed @upscalesodomite.bsky.social didn't add the extra "You Can See" to the You Can See Everything marquee last night.

This is almost exactly what I say to my students. I don't have any use for your essays! You have use for your essays!
One thing I find endlessly funny about the rise of AI is that it has revealed that there is a large number of people who believe that the reason they wrote essays at school or university is their teachers were desperately waiting for them to provide a definite answer to “Lear: what’s up with him?”
I *revelled* in reading Hamlet aloud w/ my classes. A few students were annoyed - "Why are you making us read this before class if we're just gonna read it in class?" - and some hated stumbling through it, but most got a *lot* out of it. Much easier to answer critical questions w/ oral reading.
I want to beg teachers and professors to bring back reading plays and stories aloud in class. It’s real, real-time, and different people *hear* different things in the text and are eager to discuss their takes. Empathy is imbedded in this work.
