Hello! I'm Bryan Bornmueller. You may remember me from such game companies as Office Dog, PSi, Asmodee, and FFG. Currently Innovation and Sourcing Director for Asmodee. Designer of The Fellowship of the Ring and Two Towers: Trick-Taking Game.

Luke Peterschmidt - Gandalf; provided the courage and advices I needed a just the right time and then vanishing just as quickly Mike Hummel - The Faramir of the project who did not begin with us but protected us at a critical time

Krystal Rose - Who I guess has to Boromir in this stretched analogy but honestly whose marketing powers are as powerful as the great warrior. And of course Ursula Murray Husted and Tove for supporting and play-testing with me for all these many years.

Elaine Ryan - Whose amazing and unique art lead this project like Aragon to places I could have never imagined. Blaise Sewell, Matt Fantastic, and Randy Delven - The three hunters of graphic design that framed Elaine’s art and listen to my lectures on card indexes with patients

I am especially grateful that I got to complete the game with the same “Company” all the way through. When Fellowship was finished and was so great, my greatest fear was that the team would breakup but somehow we all say it through to the end.

The trilogy is complete! Congrats to @bbornmueller.bsky.social for this wonderful game (my wife and I are now part way through the Two Towers and will be playing this third instalment for sure). Kudos to Taylor the titan of trick takers for the video as well @tricktaking.bsky.social:

We have learned of a website (which we are not linking to) that is charging people to pay to play knockoffs of popular board games like Catan, Wingspan, Agricola and more - different names, crappy art, same mechanics.

First was Krampus Kave, in Leavenworth, Wa. What a great store! It’s a small town, but this store had games, books, toys and a great selection of comics. We bought these here!

I will be at Essen SPIEL this October looking at prototypes. I will be taking pitches for original board games and card games designed with the hobby game market in mind for some of the tabletop studios at Asmodee.

Please send me an e-mail (bbornmueller@asmodee.com) with a sell sheet, video, or whatever details you can share about your game if you’d like to get time my calendar. If you already have a meeting with any Asmodee studios let me know and I may be able to join that meeting.

I will be doing a signing for the Lord of the Rings Trick-Taking Games on Saturday at 15:00 (2:00 PM) in booth C111 in Hall 7, come by, say hi, and get an art print. Please feel free to share this post with other game designers you may know!

Tonight on AFK Matt, Ben, James, and Jordynne are playing The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Trick-Taking Game. Anyone wanna take a guess at which character James is starting with this evening? If you don’t want spoilers don’t look at his head. twitch.tv/loadingready...
