Well, in the previous 10 days we’ve lost 8 of our rescues, due to various causes out of our control. To say that I’m broken and heartbroken is a serious understatement. 😿 These kids are our life! Whenever they go, a large part of us go with them.😩

After Moo Moo went OTRB, 🌈 I told myself that I wasn't going to get another cat 🐈 right away. Six days later I saw where a rescue group had cages set up at a strip mall across from the HellMart I go to. I looked at Molly and I said to myself, "This one's coming home with me!" Pure serendipity! 😺

There's a hole in my heart that I don't think can ever be refilled. I've experienced many losses of feline friends over these many years, but the sudden loss of my sweet Valentine has me in a death spiral that I may not be able to pull myself out of. Don't know what the difference is but it's real.

This is so sweet. With everything bad that's happened to us over the past few days, I really needed this more than ever. Thank You for sharing.

So Sweet 💞 Bo the beagle puppy puts his paw around Jasper the cat while they both enjoy Bird Watching 😍

Continuing on with the saga, Butters’ condition demanded a 1 hour drive to the Vet that’s open on weekends. Got there. For two hours we were “next”, yet we watched others walk in get taken cared of immediately. Finally in an exam room and he’s brought back in from initial data-gathering.

Sitting another hour… eventually opted to just leave, because we were still “next”! An hour drive back and he’s starting to come around, poked his head up out of the carrier, looking around like his usual self. Yaaay! Got home and Valentine was found dead on the kitchen floor.😿

Both she and Morty crossed the Rainbow Bridge alone, with no one there to share and comfort them. That’s what we’re HERE FOR. In three days we lost TWO of our rescues. I’ll obviously miss both and I’m not able to process any of this right now. Just want to sleep and hope they visit me in my dreams.😓

And in closing on this tragic occurrence, I'll say that CapStar lives up to it's name: it capped the lives of the fleas AND it capped MY CAT! Nothing in the documentation indicated that this was even possible. In fact, multiple doses were recommended.

ONE dose did my little girl in, and she was well within the guidelines of weight and age. Butters, our other patient with issues similar, is holding on. Will keep a close eye on his progress, but I am sad beyond belief to have lost so many friends.

Well, it’s been an “interesting” few days, and by “interesting” I mean “notable” and not in good way. I’ll start from Wednesday’s attempt to get Watson’s temp under control. His ears were hot. At the Vet, he was diagnosed as anemic brought on by the current fleademic we’re are fighting.

The Vet recommended Capstar chewable tabs to kill the fleas on the body in combination with the topical. Those nuggets are draining him dry. Ok, drive an hour to get them. Administered to Watson, Butters, Valentine, ButtrrnutSquash & Lola. Later, this was observed:

Both lethargic & unresponsive to food. The correlation was concerning, to say the least. Unusual placement for both. Later, went to the Studio and check on Mortimer. Found him dead in his room. He was FELV-positive, so we knew he wouldn’t have a long life, but this was still sudden. A good boy!😿

A particularly infuriating aspect of this A.I. bullshit is that nobody seems to remember that we all got along just fine without it for centuries. How are we all suddenly incapable of reading and understanding written words? Of creating art? Of telling stories? It’s madness.

I’ve seen these too! My parents took me there in 1956. Miss them more every day because of how they raised me and cared for us all.

Saw the world's tallest trees (coast redwoods) for the first time. It's impossible to describe their girth and my amazement. Suffice it to say that taking this pic made me wonky! World's tallest living things and 1,000 years old! #nature #trees #CA #love #omg #forest #park #nokings #goodmorning

Well, we lost two cats this week. 😩 First, Mortimer, an FELV-positive, was discovered having crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Wednesday evening, was not there to be with him when he passed. In SO sorry, little boy!

Then, while taking Butters to the emergency vet way up in Orchard Park, and not getting even an evaluation, and driving 1.5 hours each way, we were met with Valentine having crossed the Rainbow Bridge while we’re were both away from the sanctuary. Valentine, I am SO SORRY to have left you. 😩

He lived a long, full life. Furrends are always gone too soon. I miss him, as I have every damn day since moving to Vancouver. His noseboops. His snoring. His love. Thank you to all of you who loved him, followed his adventures and made him part of your lives too. Goodbye my Good Biskitty-Boy.🧡😿

My sister-in-law grew up in Puerto Rico. When I told her about Dolly Parton’s passing, she looked puzzled—no recognition of the golden voice or public persona—until her face lit up and she said, “Oh! The book lady!” I think Dolly would love to be remembered this way by a mother of two.

Awwwww

Border collies and labradors can chase a ball for hours without tiring, and it is not just energy. Their ancient prey drive floods the brain with dopamine every time it moves.

The greatest thing is to live one's life in such a way that this many people from all over the world are paying tribute to you when you are no longer with us. Thankful that this is a good recording, as I can no longer see the screen. 😥
