Hey blue skyers, I'm Ben. I make movies and do puppet shows- usually at the same time. I freelance for Doctor Who, Blake's 7, the Puppeteers of America, the Gerry Anderson company, the Ray Harryhausen Foundation and lots of others and I post a lot about 60s, 70s, 80s pop culture.

I am so sad. I got to interview Walter once and he was so wonderful... said "Keptain" to me in his fake Russian accent, complained about Shatner haters, and told me some great stories. He also blew me a kiss at the end when I told him how much it meant to me. RIP Walter.

90s not a bad age. when he visited our fan club we got an amazingly deal on a boutique hotel. im talking most impressive I've ever seen . when Walter saw the room he said you can't afford this and offered us some of his fee back. they say don't meet your hero's , but he was an absolute star ...

Oh no 😭 One of the last members of the USS Enterprise has left. RIP Walter Marvin Koenig (1936-2026) Star Trek, Babylon 5, Moontrap, The Starlost, The Questor Tapes, Futurama... What a career in sci-fi. I will miss Pavel Chekov. Again 😞

My pal Danielle Koenig shared that her father Walter Koenig passed away last night at age 90. A performer whose kindness and warmth shone through the screen. He will be well remembered.

I just found out Walter Koenig has died. This one hits hard--I've shared meals with Walter, he came to my home, and we've talked about heart issues (more than Trek or B5, actually). After my own health issues these past few weeks...this will take time to process. Rest well, my friend. 🖖

I'm stunned. I don't even know what to say right now. All I can say is rest in peace, Walter Koenig. 😔 🖖 #TOSSatNight

My heart is heavy. Walter Koenig, our Ensign Pavel Chekov, passed away early today. Walter and I met on the bridge of the Enterprise in the 1960s, and we stayed friends for nearly six decades. When Brad and I married in 2008, Walter stood beside us as our best man.

Went up to visit the mighty Steve Howarth today. Probably the greatest model and prop maker this country has had in the last 40 years. Sadly now retired.

With the utmost sincerity, Muppet Blade Runner is one of the highest compliments you can pay to Space Precinct. If anyone knew how to make a show for grown-ups disguised as a show for kids, it was Gerry Anderson.

Man I hadn't thought about "SPACE PRECINT" in forever - hell of a thing, hilariously mismatched between its intro/outro promise (BIG! PROPULSIVE! ACTION!) and the actual show being "Muppet Blade Runner" 😅 youtu.be/UNEmi01Of2s?...

How is it that Anthropic can lose $80,000,000,000 in a half a year but I can't find $350k to make my movie about a space lighthouse with puppets and miniatures?

RIP Richard Riehle. The American character actor was in Office Space, Bridesmaids, Casino, Quantum Leap, The Fugitive. Richard Riehle has also appeared in several Star Trek series (TNG, Voyager, Enterprise), The Man From Earth (2007), and Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom (1996). He was 78.

We are sad to hear that prolific character actor Richard Riehle has died at the age of 78. He played Batai in Next Gen's "The Inner Light," Seamus in the two Fair Haven episodes of Voyager, and Jeremy Lucas on Enterprise. Our deepest condolences to his friends and family.

We mourn the passing of our friend, actor Michael Forest, who left us this week. Born Gerald Michael Charlebois, the man who played Apollo on Star Trek was 97. Michael indulged me by posing for this photo in 2022.
