I live in Chicago and run into trans people at places I regularly go. I don’t think about it much, but Anand Giriharadas said something recently. The right hates big cities, but we take in and love their kids they reject. I cried thinking about that.

The “trans roommate” story is nonsense. Early reports said he lived at home & his dad turned him in—multiple sources. Now we’re supposed to believe he and a trans roommate share his conservative Mormon parents’ house? Come on! His parents’ neighbor even says Tyler Robinson lives three doors down.

It's getting pathetic how desperately they want this boy to be anything but what he is: a homegrown terrorist from a small Utah town raised Mormon by gun-loving Trump supporters and part of a movement that somehow thought Charlie Kirk wasn't right ENOUGH.

Everyone is obsessing over the exact “motive” of the alleged shooter, which hopefully we will learn soon, but missing from the conversation is that, whatever his motivation, being raised in a wildly pro-gun right wing MAGA family didn’t PREVENT HIM from ending up allegedly murdering someone.
