had the spend the morning rebuilding a Looker Studio report from scratch because the person who made it tied it to their own account so it immediately broke once their permissions were removed. this is what happens when people get to build shit out of my line of sight...

can't wait to see this prick tossed out on his ass

Look, the Kean campaign made a joke. “'So you know, I think it’s basically fair to say that congressman Kean does more local press engagements than any sitting member of the New Jersey delegation,' Neely said." 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

EA is owned by the Saudis (who gruesomely execute people for petty offenses) and Jared Kushner (Trump's son-in-law) so maybe never give them money ever again

something i realized about this age of generative AI is i don't trust things that have few or no buttons i see these ads like "buy this thing to control your AI workflow! it's 3 buttons and a screen!" no thank you. i want buttons. all the buttons. no buttons, no deal

Here's a thread of (some of) my art! I do a lot of mixed-media 2-D work about geography, landscapes (and timescapes), evolution, and what I call "deep stories" (parables, mythic, and religious narratives) that people use to make sense and meaning out of their experiences. #ArtSky #SciArt

Solarpunk Hauntie@solarpunk-auntie.myatproto.social

"Yamuna River (with Taj Mahal Erased)", mixed media on board. Inspired by a photo of the Taj Mahal with the Yamuna River glowing behind it. I wanted to focus on the glowing beauty of the river. Available for purchase.

I mean, also a lot of teenagers and children. I know it’s appealing to think these were all girlbosses standing up and making speeches at the stake, but many of them were literally children and it was a kangaroo court - nothing they could have said or done, in many cases, would’ve spared them.

real talk is it not just possible to point an LLM at a PHP codebase and go "write this bih in ahhh Rust"

Ari@ari.express

We should kill php like we killed java applets

this is the same problem with using AI for stories. AI can't teach you the difference between "a story" and "a list of stuff that happened" either

ivy@magnificentlycursed.com

We can do stunning technical lifts with AI acceleration but it’s useless at teaching nerds the difference between a project and a product

elon musk is the wealthiest person, he controls the narrative on one of the most influential social media platforms, and he has had news, entertainment, and business media calling him a genius for decades the avg person thinks he’s a half-witted nazi douche bbc propaganda not gonna help jk rowling

รℓσαɳε ℓყรɓεƭɦ@sloanelysbeth.northsky.social

for all her bleating to the contrary rowling obviously does care about her reputation. that's what this propaganda film from the bbc is really about. if you listen to terfs they are *always* complaining about how ppl don't like them. it's their biggest peeve. they want to be bigoted *and* liked.

folks i thought there was enough saliva in my mouth to dry swallow my meds today there was not i was terribly wrong

look, if you see some fucked up shit, "no i didn't" is a valid response, as is "i'm not gonna make this my problem"

Never let a cissie tell you that the trans panic defense isn’t real.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

A Tennessee appellate court has ruled that the killing of a woman may have been justifiable because she was trans. The court reversed a conviction, stating that the killer could have a new trial because the jury did not know the woman killed was trans. Trans panic in the modern era.

a stock scam, how novel

Khashoggi's Ghost@urocklive1.bsky.social

Of course the Trump Savings Accounts for kids turns out to be scam. In effect, "our president is helping rich donors offload overvalued stocks onto children, who are forced to hold the stocks for five years whether they want to or not." www.rawstory.com/trump-accoun...

feels like people forget that a huge element of Trump's first campaign was him bebopping all over his opponents, just savagely mocking them in front of a cheering audience, and everybody loved it. the phrase "media circus" doesn't exist for nothing

neutral@neutral.zone

Seeing the topic du jour and dipping out immediately, but not before noting that Verhoeven understood something about American culture that a lot of ostensibly serious political commentators still struggle with even in 2026: authoritarianism doesn't have to look grim. It can look like entertainment.

Never fond of "history will judge this harshly" comparisons but my goodness does this look like a graph that will feature in so many future history, geography and economics textbooks. If there is a future OFC.

This is what crowd out looks like.

to this point: the most popular human tool by far was the handax, which was basically a sharp rock we hit stuff with, and relied on for about 1.5 million years

the "huh, that's a weird post from somebody i don't know" to "ah, i get it, they're an awful person" pipeline

reminder that LIHEAP is funded for 2026 but Trump has been trying to cut it and may try to impede payments for it, making these increases even more painful to those who can least afford them

Ron Filipkowski@ronfilipkowski.bsky.social

A BFD. As people get ready to fill their heating oil tanks for the winter, they learn it will cost 80% more than last year. Your early Christmas Gift from Trump and the Republican Party is that your Christmas present budget will now go to their friends in the oil business.

i was watching this one video and a bit surprised that in a Hitman game, you can see people get shot, you can garrote them up close, hit them with an ax right in the neck, but if you drown someone by pushing their head into a toilet, that gets a fade to black. like what, THAT'S the line?

if i had to guess it would be that the other deaths are relatively struggle-free, while having to hold someone's head down in a toilet would require at least several seconds of witnessing them thrashing, and i guess that's too disturbing? but shooting someone in the face isn't? video game logic

seriously. estranged parents are the people you should trust the *least* about what happened to the relationship because they are almost always the cause while being certain they aren't. i'm so tired of "estranged parent" articles only talking to the parents.

Michael Hobbes@michaelhobbes.bsky.social

why would you cite a survey of parents and not children to uncover the behavior of the children

what kind of person do you have to be to cheer the idea of destroying cities full of your fellow citizens? i get that they don't think non-Americans are human, but i guess they don't think anyone other than Trump-loving right-wingers are human, either

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "With the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay ... let them take out Los Angeles, let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay."

i will vote for any candidate who makes one simple promise: that everything with Trump's name on it will be blown up within one week of him leaving office

they have to show it on every TV channel too. everyone needs to see. if they can get a live reaction stream of Trump, too, that would be even better, but he might drop dead as soon as he hears it's gonna happen

people have been gesturing at it for a while now but i think it's impossible to ignore at this point: the US is sliding into stagflation expect inflation to keep going up, rates to keep increasing, while the economy deteriorates it will be "solved" through deregulation and austerity

yeah i was wondering just how far the "apologizing and taking accountability" thing was gonna go, sounds like the answer is "not very far at all"
