It's like they go to the turd factory, scoop up a fresh steaming jobby, thrust it under your nose and say "SMELL THIS IT SMELLS SO BAD ARE YOU NOT APALLED" You hoiked up a soggy scoop of dissentery from the crap shack, what did you expect at any stage of that process

A million people turned up for a stroll in London and we went to war in Iraq. 200k rioted over the Poll Tax, Thatcher lost her job and it marked the beginning of the end for the old Tories

What happened to Sainsbury's? It used to be pretty good - the step between Tesco & Waitrose but it's gone right downhill. Automated tills, shabby aisles, frosted freezers and wild pricing. A new one opened up near us with no manned tills & the staff do not care wtf

Every day we get some old gripey Facebooker moaning that our (revamped) market isn't a market bc it doesn't have a butcher's /greengrocer's etc. Ofc they weren't there at the end of the old market that did have the above & nobody used bc the supermarkets were cheaper & more convenient.

The British syndrome, summarised: 78% of us say our high streets are important to us. But only 28% of us actually use their local high street even once a week – and only 53% of people said they used theirs *once a month*. We won't use it, and we won't lose it.

Was up until 2 then stayed awake for the same hour again because I'll be damned if I sleep through my extra hour

I forgot that Survival mode in Fallout 4 only saves when you sleep so guess who got rekt in USAF Station Olivia and lost hours of progress? Now I remember why I never finished any survival runs

Not me searching for ages looking for photos of Leonard Rossiter on this, his hundredth birthday, due to a HAPPY BIRTHDAY post that doesn't make clear that he died in 1984

I remember the last time we were told to stockpile (not why though, early 2000s?). My gourmet brother and I discussed what to store and settled on things that are edible but not so tempting as to risk opening prematurely. My solution, still unopened, was this.

There’s never not a war party in the UK: 2XX0-4: WW2 (1940-44) 2XX4-8: WW1/WW2 (1944/45, 1914-18) 2XX9: WW2 again (1939)

yet again, I am asking, just how long ago people think the Second World War actually was

Charlie Kirk’s greatest gift to the world was convincing a generation of mediocre frat boy chuds that they were intellectual heavyweights.

This is Tommy. Tommy had a question about my allegiances. Listen to the end to hear about his.

A temp agency hired me, a fat speccy guy with only bartending experience, to provide sole security for a local secondary school. I did last 2 days, to be fair

To be fair this would be my only reason for purchasing smeg appliances

Anon Opin@anonopin.bsky.social

I can't bring myself to buy any smeg kitchen appliances because of Red Dwarf.

Vinted. First order, sell a branded coat from 2011 with highlighted damage to the pleather trim on the belt. Cost in 2011: £90. Cost in 2026 £8. Complaint that the pleather trim is damaged more than I highlighted. My sister in Christ what do you expect for eight quid just get a new belt.

I see by the newspaper front pages that the rehabilitation of the Tories is now in full swing. I'm tired. So tired.

I figured out how the dome's going to work

I was tempted to pirate HP, curiosity and all that. But @jessiegender.bsky.social is right - think of the amount of times HBO commented on GOT leaks and downloads, just as an example. They DO track these things, and even that drives interest. Let this show die. Trans people deserve better.

My claim to fame is that my cousin was a prison guard when Jeffrey Archer was in Broadmoor. As they were leading him through the prison another prisoner yelled out "OI ARCHER" to which he replied "THAT'S LORD ARCHER TO YOU" Anyway RIP Bozo you won't be missed

This, but pretty much any episode of Round The Twist was nightmare fuel. Thanks to ITVX I can inflict this on... I mean, share my childhood with my son

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child?

How does a country that has an insanely high homicide rate, manage to botch murdering someone? Give a pistol to the victim’s parent and get them to do it, if they want satisfaction so badly otherwise ban this barbaric judicial relic.

"You are a person, not a trash can full of money" is the most truthful sentence I will read today

I don't know why it's taken me so long to listen to The Pleasure Principle album by Gary Numan but it slaps more than the Tango guy

AI automation is the ultimate form of consumable pop music. It’s been the goal of the music industry - a product that costs nothing and rakes in 100% profit. There was pushback in the 90s when 80s synth was replacing bands but it’s been creeping back for a while now, with streaming slashing costs.

Call me old-fashioned but if you had five "potential terrorists" with "bombs" next to an RAF base, would it be prudent to NOT release them on bail? *inhales* UNLESS...
