Unpopularity alone does not bring down authoritarians. This is the part where they make desperate plays to maintain their power, and those moves are either successfully resisted or not.

This is not beautiful to see. This is the most racist democracy on planet earth, and people just expect Black people to sing negro spirituals and "overcome." It's not working. This still happens for one reason and one reason only: white US folk don't hold each other accountable for this racism.

This is just beautiful to see

71 years ago white supremacists kidnapped, tortured, and murdered a 14-year-old Black child named Emmett Till. Some still haven't heard his story. But in the wake of Nolan Wells and Tamir Rice, a reminder that these atrocities continue—& we must not become numb to them. Here's to remembering Emmett.

qasimrashid.comToday Is the Anniversary of Emmett Till’s Murder—We Were Just There71 years later, his accuser died free. The warrant for her arrest was never executed. This is not ancient history.

Some people get mad at me On Here when I criticise Jeffries but i s2fg if y'all don't start realizing that politicians aren't your friends, & rather are your recalcitrant & often feckless employees whose jobs are to operate levers of power and who need to be held to account, we're gonna get nowhere.

“Representative Hakeem Jeffries, Democrat of New York and the minority leader, met privately in recent weeks with Jared Kushner, President Trump’s son-in-law and top outside adviser, and discussed potential areas of common ground, according to five people with knowledge of the meeting.” BRUH.

For Americans, war is something that happens to somebody else.

I’m sorry, but like, did they think that the enemy in a war would not actually try to kill them?

1/3 Mundelein Illinois needs some help from anyone in the area. Mary Alice Love was shot by a police officer after her mother called in a mental health response. Her family has been going to village board meetings and has gotten nothing but silence.

3/3 If anyone around can help spread this word further or join us on Monday nights, please do. This family deserves love and support at this time, and that is not what we are getting from our elected officials.

The real headline from the birthright‑citizenship case isn’t the outcome. It’s that four Supreme Court justices signaled they believe a president can effectively rewrite the Constitution through executive order.

Of course, no educated individual would ever suggest that the U.S. is a functioning democracy any longer. You’d have to look at North Korea to see a nation as indescribably corrupt as America.

If the Supreme Court can reverse a 95 year-old ruling for a country that is only 250 years old, I need you to UNDERSTAND this country still has no idea what it is or what it stands for other than it’s constant push-and-pull to oppress Black people and eliminate Native people.

Democrats need to start conditioning the American public with the idea that we were going to be prosecuting Supreme Court Justices for some of the decisions they have have made and we will prosecute them for their presidential immunity decision as accomplices to president Trump and his insurrection

Slaughter belongs in the anti-canon, a decision so egregiously wrong it has zero precedential value and is self-discrediting. It is not a plausible reading of a constitutional ambiguity, it is constitutionalizing the structure of an autocracy.

Maybe I'm not like you. I physically feel pain for these people who came her for a better life for their children and they get this. My sorrow is profound. They lose their homes, cars and everything. I'm seriously embarrassed to be an American citizen.
