I am hardly a natural Rayner cheerleader, but genuinely furious that she's gone. Laurie Magnus's verdict confirms she acted on advice, she just missed the disclaimer saying she should get extra advice. Not just an honest mistake - a mistake literally anyone could make. There but for the grace etc...

Rayner is absolute class. She's been a bit silly in organising her taxes, but that's not why they hate her. They hate her because she did not know her place.

Breaking: JD Vance just arrived in the Cotswolds, UK, on holiday. Apparently having this meme on his phone got one tourist banned from entering the US. So here it is on a huge billboard near where JD's holidaying 👍 📍Cheltenham, Cotswolds, UK

“I'm calling on the government to negotiate, this year, a brand new deal with the EU” Ed Davey says The Liberal Democrat leader calls for a "new UK-EU customs union, to come into force by 2030 at the latest"

This has to be heard. Genuinely odd

The man in the automated message on the Manchester Civil Justice Centre phone number genuinely sounds unhinged. It only gets worse the longer you listen. Just wait for the bit about bailiffs. Who approved this???

🧵SALT🧵 It's been snowing in the UK and the road gritters are out in force, begging the question: Have you ever wondered where that grit actually COMES from? The answer is more magical, beautiful and fascinating than you probably realised. 1/14

In the late 90s & early 2000s we in the UK received (very roughly) 80,000 asylum applications per year. Mainly people escaping Balkan wars. Today in these “unprecedented” times of “invasion” by small boat… we receive pretty much the exact same numbers. Had you been taken in? I wouldn’t blame you.

You are up to date.
