In our last release, we added 49 new rules, the biggest batch in a single release since 2.0. Today, we're releasing 2.6.3, with 33 new rules across Vue, Svelte, and more, with plenty of bug fixes!

Thank you @sentry.io , @syntax.fm and @opensourcepledge.com 🫢β™₯️

We just sent $100,000 to 20 open source projects ($5000 each) that the Syntax team use regularly and depend on. Thanks to all the maintainers for all your time and efforts! Thanks to @sentry.io and @opensourcepledge.com for giving us the resources to do this. blog.sentry.io/another-year...

With the new "inspect" command, you control your project. Use "inspect config" to visualise the final config (extends + overrides), use "inspect plugins" to see all the enabled rules, and use "inspect file" if you're writing a plugin.

It took us a while, but we did it! JavaScript plugins are in developer preview. Start experimenting! We also added support for loading plugins via npm packages.

Biome support for Tailwind is now 4-aware. Sorting of Tailwind classes is stable. New lint rules now understand your system design and suggest classes that fit your project.

All three languages come with formatting and linting. Markdown supports frontmatter, GFM, CJK writing and embedding capabilities.

2.5.15 is out! Here are the highlights: - 11 new nursery rules, including noTailwindRawColors and some Svelte rules - Massive type inference performance improvements (2-240x on our benchmarks) - Better type inference accuracy for built in globals Read more ⬇️

Biome 2.5.11 is out! It adds 2 new lint, plenty of bug fixes and some performance improvements.

Astro DX in Biome is about to get better, thanks to @erika.florist and @astro.build

Erika@erika.florist

I sent a small PR fixing a few bugs in @biomejs.dev's Astro support. This is part of a larger effort this quarter to improve the formatting story of Astro, with more to come πŸ˜„

Biome 2.5.9 is out! It fixes a performance regression, fixes a few HTML formatter issues, and it also introduces 5 new lint rules, one of which is useTailwindShorthandClasses, our second tailwind rule. An important milestone toward revamped tailwind class sorting!

2.5.7 is out with 3 new lint rules! Including our first rule that uses our Tailwind parser, noTailwindArbitraryValue, which encourages using theme values for colors, font sizes, etc. This release also has some notable performance improvements, and plenty of bug fixes.

Biome v2.5.6 is out! The formatter is now ~4% faster across the board and fixes a series of perf regressions in type-aware lint rules.

Biome v2.5 is out, with more than 500 rules! 🎌 Cross-language lint rules 🧰 Code fix for plugins ⏫ More than 70 promoted rules πŸ‘€ Watch mode 🀏 Format space delimiter πŸ“ Rules presets πŸ”§ upgrade command πŸ” Go-to definition πŸ“– Experimental pnpm catalogs

2.4.15 is out! - 7 new rules, including some Vue lint rules like useVueValidVFor and useVueNextTickPromise - Improved performance for some rules - Plenty of bug fixes

Just released 2.4.14 with some big improvements to Vue and Svelte support and 4 new lint rules! - v-for directives are parsed precisely, noUnusedVariables and noUndeclaredVariables account for them better - some parser bugs and false positives in Svelte files were fixed - many other misc bug fixes

2.4.13 is out with 10 new lint rules, and our first few React Native rules: noReactNativeLiteralColors, noReactNativeRawText, and useReactNativePlatformComponents! Try them out: npm install @biomejs/biome@latest

Biome 2.4.11 is out! In this release, we finished implementing all the Qwik specific lint rules from eslint-plugin-qwik. This makes it the first framework that is 100% supported by Biome, no extra dependencies needed!

After decades of hard work, we are very happy to announce full linting and formatting support for COBOL! Very proud of our contributors that helped make this happen!

Biome v2.4.10 is out with important performance fixes. When fixing large files with many diagnostics, Biome took ~3s for one rule. Now it takes ~200ms! πŸš€ (~13k LOC, ~3k diagnostics) That's not all, you'll get the same performance fixes in the LSP. Make sure to update

2.4.9 is hot off the press with a couple of cool new rules! - If you're using CSS, you'll probably love noDuplicateSelectors, which helps keep your styles clean and lean - If you're worried about your dependency's licences, you can keep it in check with noUntrustedLicenses

Biome 2.4.8 is building right now, and inside is a new Drizzle domain and 2 new Drizzle nursery rules! noDrizzleUpdateWithoutWhere and noDrizzleDeleteWithoutWhere ensures your .update() and .delete() queries always have a .where() Contributed by our awesome community πŸ’™

WOW! More than 450 rules! Thanks to all our contributors for their time and hard work (and more recently, tokensπŸ˜„) 500 soon? Help make it happen! PRs always welcome!

You can now test GritQL queries in our playground! It's great for getting quick feedback. Try it yourself!πŸ‘‡

Impressive performance! Regarding the Biome benchmark, our CLI does a pre-traversal for discovering nested configurations and ignore files, which increases our processing time slightly. Something we are definitely looking into to improve!
