This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.

Alex Andreou@sturdyalex.bsky.social

BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

President Zelenskyy: If [Ukraine is fighting] without United States' support, it's very difficult. But if the United States will support Putin - it's unbelievable, it's a tragedy. Of course, if these two countries will be together, of course we will not prevail. And we will not be able to stand.

❗️Romanian F-16s shot down two drones that entered the country’s airspace without authorization over the Black Sea. The first was downed 25 km southeast of Sulina at 18:01, two minutes after entering. The second was downed 20 km east of Sulina at 18:05. #NATO

Zelenskyy says Starlink restrictions REMAIN in Ukraine, crippling interceptor drones and military operations. He says Ukraine has evidence the restrictions are DELIBERATE after testing Starlink systems in the EU, where they worked perfectly at speeds that cause connections to fail inside Ukraine.

🇺🇦🇺🇸 “Starlink service for speeds of up to 160 km/h is being restored. Strike and interceptor drones are expected to resume flights,” says Ukraine’s former Defense Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov.

The tide is turning on phone theft in London. 16,000 fewer phones were stolen last year following the Met's biggest ever crackdown and record funding for our police service from City Hall.

Absolutely brilliant result in New Bradwell overnight, with a resounding Labour win in our city. Milton Keynes is getting a fantastic, locally-rooted representative in Cllr Tracey Bailey and I could not be prouder of our campaign🌹

Government should call Pissington's (sic) bluff. Call in the army for a training exercise of how to lay siege to a village. Nobody in, nobody out. Once the pub has run out of beer they'll come begging 😁

It’s not too late to stop this madness - the government has said the uk mega donors are a problem. The lords can bring in a cap on UK donors to stop any attempt to buy the next election. Share this and ask your MP to join us protecting British democracy.

If anyone wondered why Reform can do what they do 🙄

Tone of the Electoral Commission response is not confidence-inspiring about its own role An Electoral Commission spokesperson said: "The law requires political parties to report ... "Information about any potential attempt to evade the controls on donations is for the police to consider."

Incredible moment in the doc when Farage’s right-hand man Dan Jukes lists several foreign donors who’ve given money to the party via their kids. It’s not just one or two backers - it’s a huge conspiracy cooked up by the party to break the law. It’s bigger than we even thought

Imagine where we would be if we allowed, say, Russian money to corrupt, say, a referendum or something. I mean, that could have serious repercussions for years!

Reform is bent. BBC News is broken. The government must act, or we are all lost

This is the BBC posting a Reform press release as a story 1hr after Channel 4's investigation dropped on YouTube.

Replying to @carolecadwalla.bsky.social

The Times & Telegraph laundered illicitly funded Reform polls onto their front pages as ‘exclusives’ yet not a single word on their sites. UK political journalism is so very broken

I'm not sure The Electoral Commission is equipped to fight organised criminal funding of Reform. The police should investigate instead. Immediately. Democracy is too precious to be tarnished by bad actors. If we don't stop it now, we may never get the chance to stop it later.

As far as I can see from the figures, Labour are releasing around 4,500 prisoners early over 12 months. The Tories released over 10,000 early over just 9 months. Both due to the Tories' failure to plan and provide adequate prison capacity. 'Odd' how all the right wing fury is aimed at Labour. 🤔

The Tory Party has once again moved from extreme to bat-shit crazy.

Laurence Turner MP@larry-turner.bsky.social

Andrew Griffith said that the mini-budget represented the 'right plans' and 'fundamental supply-side reforms to deliver higher and sustainable growth for the long-term.'

Over their 14 year rule, the Tories added a net 36 prison places per year. Sunak had to release over 10,000 prisoners early to cope with the crisis the Tories created. Since 2024, Labour have built 2,900 new places. But still the far right blame Labour for the Tory legacy.
