Thanks to those of you who braved the elements to head out and see me in Aberdeen on Friday & Stirling last night. Your commitment to the cause of poetry is highly commendable. Next week, it’s Stamford, Bury St Edmunds, Corsham & the first of my Oxford shows. brianbilston.com/events/

If you’re coming along to tonight’s Stirling show, please note it’s been brought forward to 6pm, doors at 5.30. Blame Storm Boelo for that. It’s sold out but if you didn’t get a ticket first time around, it may be worth checking with Tolbooth box office in case there have been any returns.

Don't miss Brian Bilston's show. I went to Kidderminster. I was tired and grumpy after back-breaking editing. By the time we left, I was grinning. We talked about our fave poems all the way back to Shropshire. He's going all over the UK - so catch him when he comes in range. A real shot in the arm.

This is called ‘This isn’t really a poem’.

A big thank you to all those who came out along to Kidderminster Town Hall last night. Talking of magnificent venues, tonight I’m at Mackintosh Queen’s Cross in Glasgow. I’ve fond memories of performing there in 2024 with the legendary Henry Normal (pic attached).

Thank you to all those who came along to the Stoller Hall in Manchester last night to hear me read a few poems. That was a fab evening. Tonight, I’m in Ulverston - at the Coro - for my only foray into Cumbria on this tour. www.thecoro.co.uk/event/brian-...

Brian Bilston is showing NO signs of hibernating this winter!!! 🥚🐴 Brian kicked off the first seven dates of his 'How To Lay An Egg with a Horse Inside' tour last month, but for October? Get ready, because it’s a BIG one. 👀 Grab your tickets via the 🔗 in bio 🏃‍♂️💨

I do get to read poems in some half-decent places. Thanks, Norwich, for a fantastic evening at the magnificent St Andrew’s Hall. Tonight it’s Colchester (sold out). Next week, it’s Loughborough (sold out), Manchester & Ulverston, then Kidderminster, Glasgow, Aberdeen & Stirling the week after that.

You should go and see Rachel. She's very good, but also, the balls it takes to do a post like this - in a climate where comedians are encouraged to post nothing but wins, forever - merits your attendance on its own.

Hey folks. In total honesty my tour is NOT selling well. I’ve sold 30 tickets in a 400 seater in Birmingham, and not much more elsewhere. If you like musical comedy, if you like standup, then please come see my show! And spread the word! The Rachel Parris Songbook tour starts in Nov! Link in bio! 🎶

National Poetry Day 1. John Hegley: Glad to Wear Glasses (1990) Mostly poems about dogs and (reading) glasses - and all the better for it! A lovely collection.

Thank you so much to those who made it to Harpenden last night to hear me read some poems at the Eric Morecambe Centre. This evening, I’m at Warwick Arts Centre for yet more poems. It’s National Poetry Day today so attendance is pretty much compulsory. www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/whats-on/Un8...

Apparently Harpenden qualifies as being in the East of England, although it doesn’t strike me as being particularly eastern. Anyhow, I’ll be heading further that way in October: Norwich, Bury St Edmunds and Colchester.

For anyone on the verge of buying a ticket, please do as it’s a wonderful evening. The critical review of ,,,;;pppppp’[[[[[[[[[;’;//////////////////3, had me doubled up in laughter.

After two fantastic evenings in Winchester and Guildford, the first leg of my autumn tour is at an end. Thank you to everyone who came along, despite all the poetry. A mere forty more shows to go.

I’m back on the road on Wednesday. Here’s where I’m heading: 30 Sep: HARPENDEN 1 Oct: COVENTRY 2 Oct: DARWEN 3 Oct: ILKLEY LIT FESTIVAL 4 Oct: MALTON 7 Oct: CROYDON 8 Oct: DEAL (SOLD OUT) 9 Oct: NORWICH 10 Oct COLCHESTER (SOLD OUT) More info on these shows is here: brianbilston.com/events/

Thank you, Cardigan, for a splendid evening at Theatr Mwldan. I’m heading back into England now for the next run of shows, starting with Winchester Guildhall tonight, followed by: 27 Sep: GUILDFORD 30 Sep: HARPENDEN 1 Oct: COVENTRY 2 Oct: DARWEN 3 Oct: ILKLEY LITERATURE FESTIVAL 4 Oct: MALTON

Thank you to all those who came along last night to the Savoy Theatre in Monmouth. What a gorgeous town and venue in which to begin the tour. A big shout-out, too, to Geoffrey for a cracking set of poems to open the night (pic attached).

Today I’m off to the Aberystwyth Arts Centre. Incredibly there are still some tickets available. And just to mention that on my way to Cardigan on Friday, I’ll be stopping off at Gwisgo Bookworm in Aberaeron to sign a few books. I’ll be there from 11am if you fancy coming along to say hello.

My autumn tour starts today. Sadly, it may be the last grand outing for this notebook, which has survived floods, famine, pestilence & someone trying to make off with it after a gig in Brighton. Hopefully it will make it to Monmouth today, followed by Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Winchester & Guildford.

Stirling, Helmsley & Pocklington are the latest shows to sell out – and there are very few tickets remaining for Bristol, Exeter, Bakewell, Chorley, Cardigan, Guildford, Stroud and London. Info on all the shows this autumn can be found here: brianbilston.com/events/

Most of the other shows look like they will come close to selling out – although if you do live near Bude, Cardiff, Glasgow, Malton, Stamford, Sunderland or Ulverston, please do spread the word as people seem to like my poetry less in those places. And who could blame them.

I’m just on my way back from this year’s Morecambe Poetry Festival - what a fantastic, fun and friendly weekend it is. Highly recommended for all enthusiasts of poetry, the seaside, and statues of legendary comedians.

A week tomorrow, I’ll be heading to Wales and reading poems in Monmouth. Shows in Aberystwyth and Cardigan follow shortly after, and then I have a jaunt to Cardiff in November. Hope to see some of you there. Diolch.
