It's always 'a victory for the Left' when the Right in question are kleptocrats, racists, environmental plunderers and bigots. It's a victory for all of us. We're not arguing against grammar schools here. They want to destroy the Amazon for goodness sake

For those keeping score, Vivek has moved on from pedo-enabling human garbage to spineless pedo-enabling human garbage who will lie to your face that words do not mean what they obviously mean. Words do not exist to describe what a piece of shit he is.

First one I can remember (and only vaguely) is Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, around 1988/9 (can’t say exactly when) at the sadly departed Lockerbie Rex. Went with my Mum, Aunt and some cousins.

First film you saw at the cinema. The real first one, not the pretend one you tell people! Mine: The Empire Strikes Back, 1980, Wigan. We were near the front and I can still remember how massive the AT-ATs looked, looming over us out of the snow :) Film, year, where, and whatever stuck with you.

First NEW film I remember was Suburban Commando at the same cinema in 1991. A rare cinema outing for my Dad, we were sent out to clear the house for my Mum to run a Tupperware party. I think I enjoyed the big promotional cup with straw I was bought more than the movie.

Can‘t find voters who like your terrible policies? Just pay Silicon Valley for some! The logical endpoint of the “Am I out of touch? No its the voters who are wrong” politics of the last several decades here

This is pretty dystopian and likely to warp political understanding - UK Parlamentarians are according to @bloomberg.com increasingly using teams of 'representative' AI agents as focus groups, which is cheaper than getting real voters together:

If there is a big blue wave one of the things they should push for is making it illegal for a corporation to issue stock dividends or do stock buybacks within 12 months of layoffs of over 500 people. If things are so bad you're laying people off, why are you doing stock buybacks?

Israel’s Foreign Ministry attacking Brad Lander - a self-described liberal Zionist - by name, simply for doing protective presence, should be the final sign that the Israeli government would gladly sacrifice every last Jew in Diaspora to dominate more Palestinians with impunity.

It’s almost like Reform is a party built on racism and they could no more crack down on racists than Plaid could crack down on people who believe Wales should be independent

Jim Pickard@pickardje.bsky.social

fascinating that Reform's priority seems to be going to war with ITV over its documentary rather than cracking down on the root problem www.ft.com/content/3d67...

Anyone who claims they needed to see Reform members actually use slurs to figure out they are racist is either a liar or an idiot and should be ignored

El-Sayed has to disavow random terrorist groups overseas while Rogers is endorsed by a rapist that no one would ever dream of asking him to disavow

The Bulwark@thebulwark.com

Mike Rogers: "[El-Sayed] did not disavow the Muslim Brotherhood." Bash: "He did. He said, 'Sure, yeah.'" Rogers: "I don't know why the press is so eager to protect this guy."

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

You might have seen my post on this yesterday. While I got lots of nice messages, I also got a load of hateful bile, so I've written this article to set the record straight. The dehumanisation of disabled people has to stop www.normalisland.co.uk/p/disabled-p...

normalisland.co.ukDisabled people are not riding around in free cars. That’s not how it works.Sorry folks, but I’m breaking character today because Nigel Farage has pissed me off and I need to set the record straight.

Replying to @radiodeadair.com

No, please share this far and wide: the test that Anthropic is crowing about was done with a bunch of Android devices that were given a giant security flaw by turning on a setting that no regular user would even think to access, the the thing that did the "replication" was actually a huge LLM.

“Nigel Farage never turning up to Parliament and spending his time when he was supposed to be representing me instead hunting for bribes really pushed me to vote for him” The Carlin bit about average intelligence is evergreen

I'm a White English Anglican woman from Clacton, in my twenties. My top issue is immigration. In 2024 I voted for an independent. Today I'd vote Reform UK.

Important note to “Honest Bob”: Fascism is not a traditional British cultural value. We got quite strident about that not that long ago. My Granny got a medal for her part in rejecting it and everything.

i just think if u are starting to find jewish conspiracy theories more persuasive while spending a lot of your time on a website owned by an antisemite who controls your algorithm you may not have arrived at those beliefs independently

Self harmed (looked at twitter) and they got leftists sayin ZOG on there now

And now an ad for a legal AI that flat out says “if you don’t use this, you’ll get things wrong“. Uhh, tell that to the all the lawyers getting sanctioned because AI made up citations, motherfuckers. Fucking society wide gaslighting to get us to us a product that sucks.

It’s a lovely piece but I can only read the text in a Scottish accent

All of David Klein’s Fly TWA posters are wonderful. But his depiction of Venice is, even by his own ridiculously high standards, something very special indeed.

These earbuds are driving me up the wall. Pretty sure the controls on them are being activated by gusts of wind while I walk so I’ve heard the same 10 seconds of podcast like 5 times now.
