Attention scum teenagers: It’s time to stop eating avocado toast, being and having genders, and do your patriotic duty (get obliterated to a fine mist by weapons that might as well be fired from outer space in a new, somehow even dumber war)

Very big on morals, is Martin.

Martin Samuel in The Times thinks it’s very important to note that Harry Kane doesn’t have tattoos. This is, apparently, some kind of signifier of his moral purity.

Someone sent me a note to tell me that my newsletter on Amol Rajan was very spiteful and will be damaging to his business. So, I was wrong: there *are* Amol Rajan stans.

I don’t think enough is said about how funny this is. He would have briefed somebody to do this. Possibly while stood behind them, making suggestions over their shoulder. Stood on a stepladder.

So angry about this i might go there tomorrow and hold a protest. Possibly one in Waterstones. Where i talk about my new book. YEAH

There was a long discussion of pedestrianisation on Radio 4 earlier with not a single mention of Norwich. Outrageous oversight by the national broadcaster once again.

While it’s probs a tad early to judge whether the modestly-named “Amol Rajan Connection” will be a success – given YouTube’s bias towards established platforms – @brokenbottleboy.bsky.social has here written most of the things I’ve been thinking in relation to Rajan’s post-BBC self-adoration crusade

It sat on the shelf for three years, it got no promotion and binheads review-bombed it because 'woke' - she isn't - but even despite all that and 'superhero fatigue', critics went WILD for it. @brokenbottleboy.bsky.social joins me for a look at Ironheart. timworthington.org/2025/11/04/i...

“Did you read it?” “I read a synopsis of it prepared for me by my team.” And there is the essence of Piers Morgan: Bullshit powered by bulletpoints.

Naomi Klein@naomiaklein.bsky.social

I have refused many invitations to be interviewed by Piers Morgan over the years. This time I made an exception, on the condition that it be one-on-one, not a scream fest, and that it actually be about the book Astra and I wrote. It was... an experience. youtu.be/SMFQBQx-qSU

The FT has a profile of a computer science grad who can't get a job because of AI and this quote perfectly captures the fact that he's still driven by sycophantic awe of tech billionaires while also developing a conspiratorial resentment of them.

Rajan’s dumb while thinking he’s smart because he swallows the AI industry’s marketing whole. He’s dumb because he thinks — as Emma pointed out — that regurgitating the same tired talking points will excite an audience. And he’s especially dumb because he didn’t realise how much BBC clout made him.

I was just thinking about the people at school who were so popular they were basically high school celebrities and how almost without fail peaking that early is a bad thing.

We have been watching Little House On The Prairie (2026) and it’s such a bizarre production. Practically everyone talks and acts like they’re from the 21st century. I don’t really understand why they’ve bothered.

Adding the perspectives of Black and indigenous characters is obviously a great thing. But there are so many white characters who act in ‘enlightened’ ways that effectively end up whitewashing history entirely.

It also completely ignores the fact that the original books were essentially Republican propaganda to agitate against the New Deal and the very concept of state asssistance.
