Not quite the word I would use, but certainly amazing.

it's cool that you can send "STOP" to instantly block an automated political fundraising text message so they have to text you from a different number five minutes later

The fact that we let "setting a good example" get rebranded as "virtue signaling" will always give me a migraine.

I'm sorry but that's just what it's called from now on. I will never stop. My husband is going to lose his fucking mind the first time I casually drop it, I cannot wait

Listening to this Chiefs Raiders game, and thinking both announcers sound like dweebs. And one of them is JJ Watt. I would say that to his face.

I cannot be the only person who finds the "lift and peel" seals on Costco milk jugs to be impossible to lift or peel. Can we start a movement to get this fixed?

I always thought the show became wildly inaccurate when Baltar was able to maintain a cult following after his presidency left everyone in ruins. But now that story line seems prescient.

My god people can be dumb about data. Regular old SQL databases are, like pretty good y’all!

austin@aparker.io

it is 2026 and you have a data problem your options: 1. SQLite 2. Spanner-like index + blob storage there is no 3rd choice

Who could imagine?

A Cayman Islands source gave Blum incriminating intel on 20 ultrarich Americans defrauding the US Treasury. He took it to the IRS in Miami, where a special agent looked over the documents and told him to get lost. Blum had expected gratitude. “This whole thing is a career killer,” the agent said.

Notice the absence of the traditional olive branch? The olive branch symbolized America prioritizing peace with war as a last resort. It has been part of the Great Seal of the United States since 1782 and was part of the original seal of the Department of Defense.

Again, Neither NAFTA nor China are the reason that union auto jobs are leaving the area. Kyle Bos, the supposed union rep, voted for Trump 3 times. Three!🤷🏿‍♂️ Yes I'm sad that 1,400 truck manufacturing jobs were eliminated. But in California, BYD, a supposed "Chinese company" created 750 union jobs.

🚨Exclusive🚨: I have exculpatory evidence in what is easily the dumbest congressional oversight episode of the year...maybe the decade. I was at the Iowa v. MD game & just looked at my pics & sure enough, someone who looks like Jack Smith is sitting in Sec 109, Row 1. Complete & total vindication!

“Weaponizing” the Justice Department and Weaponizint the Justice Department

Things that Senator Eric Schmitt always confuses: Iowa Hawkeyes vs. Atlanta Hawks. A John Deer Tractor vs. A Dear John Letter. Washington State vs. Washington DC. Gorrillas vs. Guerrillas. Duke University’s Blue Devils vs. Arizona State University’s Sun Devils.

There’s a guy running for School something-or-other with signs in the neighborhood. Emerson Lake You know what I’m thinking, what his nickname in high school was, and whose music his parents liked. Lucky man!

Out of curiosity, listened to "Choosin' Texas". Perfectly fine country pop, and she should be glad and good riddance to that dude. It would have been a mistake.

Fuck everybody this isn’t an impeachable offense

at this point: carbon removal is, at best, essentially a research project. renewable expansion is a policy project

Bill McKibben@billmckibben.bsky.social

At the moment we have no real idea how to scale up carbon removal--it's a hair on the mole of the ugly backside of the global hydrocarbon industry But we do know how to scale up solar panels and wind turbines and batteries. So that's our job billmckibben.substack.com/p/facts-on-t...
