Despite RFK Jr's appointment in the Trump administration and an all Republican congress, regulations that keep Americans healthy are nowhere to be found. In fact, the EPA has quietly revised its website, which for years claimed that PFOA and PFOS had been “phased out” in the US.

Indeed they did. This is an important change that will make biomedical science like cancer and dementia research worse, by allowing newly political roles (program officials now under Schedule F/P/C and IC directors chosen by politicals) free rein to choose projects to fund.

Should read the whole thread. When Stand Up for Science, usually a relentless advocate for science, shows why a study should NOT be done, it’s time to listen.

In Feb 2026, we dispatched an experienced associate with decades of West Africa investigative journalism expertise to conduct an on-the-ground fact-finding investigation. We presented this to Congress in a closed briefing. A thread of our findings🧵 www.standupforscience.foundation/policy-and-a...

The NIH proposal to conceal reviewer scores from program officers, investigators, and advisory councils is ill-conceived, introduces disproportionate weight to small percentile differences, diminishes the role of scientific peer review, and should be withdrawn in its entirety. a 🧵

To this day, the @standupforscience.net work I'm most proud of is fighting this study. Please help us stick a fork in it by signing our petition to Congress: www.standupforscience.net/petition-to-...

It's time to take immediate action to halt RFK Jr.’s malicious and harmful study, which will intentionally withhold life-saving Hepatitis B vaccine from thousands of newborns in Guinea-Bissau.

The CDC just re-opened a previously shelved study that would withhold the hepatitis B vaccine from children in Guinea-Bissau, despite decades of evidence showing it is safe and effective. This is a violation of human rights, using “science” to harm some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

Forging the Future of Science and Democracy is a guide for rebuilding a resilient scientific ecosystem that works for the public good. 4 steps we must take to ensure we don’t rebuild a system with the same injustices & vulnerabilities: Assessment, Accountability, Deconstruction, & Reconstruction.

The anti-science, anti-democracy Trump Administration has placed the American scientific ecosystem in a precarious position. We needed reform before Trump 2.0…but now we need a full reconstruction. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to dream big about a brighter future for science & democracy.

I attended NY Climate Week w/ @standupforscience.net. I have some THOUGHTS. 1/ Climate change is an existential threat. Addressing it means confronting unequal harms, powerful political & financial interests, & an uncomfortable reality: good intentions do not necessarily produce adequate action.
