Prediction is hard. Especially about the future. That Yogi Berra gem proves that you don't have to be a sf writer to get irritated with people insisting that you must know what's going to happen tomorrow, but (as a sf writer), I can tell you that this is one of our main occupational hazards.

Solar plus batteries might be a fundamental shifter of many things the world over and we just don’t e see it yet. Manufactured and deployed - everywhere - instead of warred, killed over, and shipped. We’re still modeling normal economics with this product. I think that will change. #bullish

6. In a way, it’s reassuring that solar is saturating, as it means solar is actually displacing fossil fuel rather than power demand increasing vertically. But it means the beginning of a new phase: the age of cheap solar and batteries. This too will pass, but it’s just getting started now.

Never forget: Every 1/10th degree of global warming we prevent is a profound gift to our children and grandchildren in the forms of health, peace, & prosperity. Today, I’m working with colleagues from across the global to help build a path to what we are calling Zero Carbon Prosperity. More soon.

Lula’s win is the first good news for the planet in a while! I bet it shaves a tenth of a degree off how hot our earth eventually gets, which will save millions of lives Thank you Brazil!

Over the last eight years, I’ve probably written the words “energy affordability” a million times. Sometimes, there's a risk that the phrase can become an abstraction. Yesterday’s @nytimes.com article is a powerful reminder of what’s at actually stake. Quick 🧵1/5. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/18/u...

For those of us helping to deploy clean energy, this is a reminder to keep the people behind the policies, projects and technologies at the center of our work. 4/5

The ultimate measure of progress is more than the policies we promote or the energy we produce. It’s whether that energy makes people’s lives better. 5/5

High energy costs can mean the difference between keeping an oxygen machine running and not. Between keeping lifesaving insulin refrigerated and risking a medical emergency. #energy #cleanenergy #Renewables #solar 2/5

Energy affordability isn’t just about bills. It’s about people’s ability to stay healthy and safe -- and to have one less stressor in their lives. 3/5

If you work in clean energy, bookmark this thread from @solarchase.bsky.social. I've shared it with clients and teams, and I'm excited to share it here, too. Her book is 💯, so take advantage of the discount. As I've said before, think @xkcd.com's Thing Explainer, but for solar. ☀️

I also asked Atlanta Braves relief pitcher and climate champion Brent Suter what it was like pitching in 100-plus degree heat at Dodger Stadium on Saturday.

Alright folks, I wrote about Tom Cruise's new climate movie, DIGGER. It's not exactly terribly, but mostly I'm annoyed that it's yet another disaster flick with zero interest in climate solutions. www.climatecoloredgoggles.com/p/digger-cli...

I claim best quote from Nobel prize winner Francis Halzen in this 2015 story: “We are in the happy situation that there are not enough Muppets,” he says. “We’ve run out of Muppets." www.newscientist.com/article/2053...

Fun fact: I tried out for Double Dare at a mall in Indianapolis circa 1986. I was star-struck by Marc Summers and fully froze on stage.

The New York Times@nytimes.com

Marc Summers, the host of the celebrated Nickelodeon children’s show “Double Dare,” recently headlined an event in Philadelphia celebrating the 40th anniversary of the show’s debut. He spoke with us about the unexpected success of the show, why the anniversary feels a bit rueful and more.

This is good headline writing

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

The Phillies, who are making it much harder on themselves, have lost again. They might have lost Luis Arraez too. Those who stayed until the end are booing. The vibes are not great.

Your family is psychically vulnerable to President Carter’s wandering spirit. He can enter minds and infect them with thoughts of solar panels. To prevent this you can make or buy a specially designed net to ensnare his ghost, and it’s also a piece of art that brings both protection and beauty.
