I know there's a lot going on, but "pillaging and plundering foreign countries for their natural resources" seems like it should be making more headlines.

Sorry, since when do state agencies just get to decide a section of RCW is unconstitutional and stop enforcing it?!?

Genuinely deranged for a state commission to change campaign finance rules two weeks before an election. Corrosive to people’s faith in the election process.

This is completely absurd from the PDC. It opens the door for Elon Musk to come throw millions of dollars into elections in WA - whether it’s the toss up in WA-3 or the anti-trans initiatives or others as well. WTF is the PDC thinking?!

Basic common sense should tell you that nearly all of the trivial number of noncitizens who attempt to vote do so out of ignorance rather than fraudulent intent. It’s easily caught & risks serious criminal penalties for no personal benefit. No rational person would do that deliberately.

Aaron Reichlin-Melnick@reichlinmelnick.bsky.social

Yep. Noncitizen voting is extremely rare AND there’s no real pattern in who does it; it can be people of any political viewpoint. That’s because it’s not some grand “voter fraud” conspiracy, it’s almost always what law professor Benjamin Plener Cover calls “voter mistake.”
