He never knows what he’s talking about. He is always bullshitting and lying and in this case being racist. How did millions of Americans take him seriously? What is wrong with Americans?

This is literally the end of the rule of law. If a President can pardon people committing crimes on his behalf - and the Supreme Court says he himself can't be prosecuted for crimes committed as part of his job - then the government becomes a lawless entity able to violate our rights without limit.

The pedophile protection party’s president is laundering right-wing conspiracy theories through the most corrupt DOJ in American history. Whenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let’s make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar.

The most president, DOJ, members of his administration and members of Congress are engaged in an active, OVERT plot to undermine American elections. It’s been escalating for years.

Absolutely insane, in every way. But especially the request to block certification "pending an investigation to determine whether votes cast for Daniel J. Sullivan were meant to be cast for Senator Sullivan." Just think about that. It's not possible.

"Why are you so obsessed with Hasan Piker?" "I don't know!" Yes, you do. Because you are engaged in a restless influence battle to keep the Democratic Party and it's myriad structures, which benefit you, affixed with donors and corporations that pay you to do this. That's it. The whole thing.

To the cable news producers and hosts who follow me here: Find time to book Whitney on your show. No need to mention me or my podcast. But she deserves to be heard. And Texas voters need to be reminded of what Gregg Abbott did.

Radley Balko@radleybalko.bsky.social

Today we launch the first episode of my podcast. I interviewed Whitney Mitchell, whose fiancé and caretaker Garrett Foster was murdered at a BLM protest in 2020. Foster's killer was convicted by a jury and given a 25-year sentence. Then Texas Gov. Greg Abbott pardoned him.

I love that Musk being a Nazi is just a punchline to mainstream media. Also what is the practical use of a car that can drive in a loop and do a flip? Can the average consumer even afford this? Just juveniles covering juveniles.

Alex Hern@hern.bsky.social

do think there's a danger of looking at extremely cool shit like a car driving upside down then doing a kickflip before landing, and convincing yourself it's actually lame because the guy funding it is a white supremacist

The Joe Biden White House left this country in peril.

Nicholas Grossman@nicholasgrossman.bsky.social

The Biden administration didn’t take Musk’s Russia-assisting intervention seriously. Treated it as something that could be addressed with contract language. Big mistake. In 2024, the US awarded SpaceX additional contracts worth billions of dollars. The next govt should go the oppoaite direction.

Harper Letter signers, where are you? Matt? Chomsky? What about the Atlantic and Tyler Harper? Any free speech warriors want to jump on this?

Adam Serwer@adamserwer.bsky.social

Former “free speech” crusaders have ushered in an unprecedented campaign of censorship in Texas universities, resulting in pulitzer winning books being banned, medical and scientific facts being suppressed, and entire fields of study deemed “woke” being eliminated www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1...

Leftist have been asking for a coherent message for 2 years. Dem leadership chose to lay down and play dead. This was a conscious choice.

David Roberts@volts.wtf

It seems like every successive election in the US is more negative, ie, more about anger toward incumbents rather than any positive program by challengers, but this upcoming election is the most purely negative I think I've ever seen. Can anybody really lay out a coherent Democratic message?

Just a gross abuse of power on every level by the US government. Sending people to be abandoned, tortured and murdered.

At X the liberals are frothing at the mouth for more suspensions and expulsions of young kids. I think I’ve had enough. Brains being slowly baked to mush.

They won’t do this because that would mean promising something to their voters and taking on big tech. They haven’t shown that type of fight in 20 years. Sorry. I’m cynical. Prove me wrong.

I think we have to bring back to policy, not esoteric arguments about the nature of poverty and comparison between Euros and Americans. Do you support M4A? Student debt relief? Universal childcare? Yes - let’s build together.

This post is unavailable.

There is a certain type of Bluesky liberal who cannot themselves vocally oppose universal childcare, student debt relief, m4a without losing credibility so they hide their opposition in concern trolling tactics and rhetoric without ever getting around to endorsing the policy they supposedly support.

Who is this for? At some point you have to address the economic concerns that are being expressed to you or you will not maintain power. I think moderate Dems just have to accept that. People want free college and Medicare for all. Expanding prosperity should be a clear government goal.

David Roberts@volts.wtf

Convincing young people that America is poor & no one can afford anything & everyone is living paycheck to paycheck & their economic future is doomed ... IS NOT GOING TO LEAD TO MORE PROGRESSIVE POLICY. People who feel anxious & under threat do not respond with openness & generosity! Look it up!

You can tell the Dem party has been taken over by consultants because how weak the arguments are, how tethered they are to the news cycle, how devoid of principle and meaning they are. It’s a party lead by rich 20-30 somethings from the suburbs who don’t value anything and lack community.

Adam Bonica@adambonica.bsky.social

The Democratic Party has let a consulting industry exploit elderly donors in its name, wreck its reputation and finances in the process, and walk away rich whether the party wins or loses. When a mirror is held up, the instinct is to break the glass rather than look. On why the press looks away:

On X they are arguing about Piker. I swear I couldn’t find a dumber topic. And then I came on Bluesky and people are claiming clanker is a slur… We are cooked.

linguist here, sorry "slur" just means aspersion or insinuation insult. bigoted slurs are BAD!! but if you're trying to say the colloquialism "clanker" is a slur and that means it's problematic, you're just making shit up, and insulting a lot of people who worked hard to decrease bigoted language.

The last round of tariffs lead to corps receiving double payments- one from consumers the other from taxpayers. There is no downside to Trump or his donors. That’s the bind the Supreme Court has put the American public in. You can’t sue, you can’t get recovery. You just pay.

This is the NYT very daintily giving its readers a hint of the truth, which is that Trump's tariffs have all been illegal as fuck and so are these. I guess it's progress. www.nytimes.com/2026/08/25/b... (I've been writing about this for a while now.)
