This has been the playbook for my entire life and is why the firing of the director of the White House travel office in 1993 got wall to wall coverage while astounding crimes get a shrug from the beltway media today

This awful saga is a good glimpse into how MAGA gets propaganda laundered into mainstream discourse by making just enough noise to get news outlets to treat their outrage as a "controversy," which then requires even-handed treatement of both sides' stances: newrepublic.com/article/2168...

This is exactly what ICE said: "Parra-Hernandez ran in front of an ICE vehicle and was struck." Now watch the video. They're no other word for it: They're lying.

Eric Umansky@ericumansky.bsky.social

Watch an ICE agent run down and then run over a man. The man was was then writhing on the ground, saying "You broke my leg! You broke my leg!" Agents didn't help him. And btw, the man wasn't the target of their operation.

It’s really incredible. I once pitched a story about a program I run at my public uni on teaching the Constitution and didn’t even get a reply. And before you say it….I’ve been published everywhere. I know how to write a pitch. This is a right wing rag.

Haha Gottheimer out with statements condemning Macklemore and supporting the Paramount merger. Please someone primary him so my friends will stop bugging me to.

Video where my congressman has a meltdown after being asked if he’s voting for more money for Israel. He whips out his phone and asks if they support Hamas and Hezbollah and just repeats it over and over like a threenager throwing a tantrum. Just a few years ago this was plainly unacceptable.

Angry Donkey News Feed 3@blueskyspirit.bsky.social

Today, we asked Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) if he was planning to vote to cut off money to Israel. Instead of answering the question, he deployed the same deflections we've been hearing for years now. He's received over $2 million from pro-Israel lobby groups. x.com/i/status/207...

The day ICE murdered someone in Maine Josh Gottheimer was promoting a Fox segment about the nepo book his & DHS Sec Mullin’s daughters wrote about “bipartisanship” Now he’s attacking Ro Khanna for visiting the West Bank. It’s too late for 2026 but 2028 can be his last election. Enough is enough.

He’s always ready to take a swing at a Democrat on Fox or CNN but won’t use his bromance with Markwayne to help people trapped inside an ICE camp in his own state.

One thing that I’ve learned in my study of backlash politics from Reconstruction through the Civil Rights Movement is that backlashers are a persistent bunch. The undoing of Reconstruction took several decades, and post-WWII backlashers looked back on that patient counterrevolution as a model.

Do they really not realize that losing 5-4 is going to bring these guys back year after year until they flip the holdout and toss the 14th Amendment. They got so close that they can taste it.

What is the Dem “centrists” case for why they should be trusted to reverse and undo this damage and advance anything remotely positive when they got us to this point

What **exactly** is moderate about this guy who goes on TV to trash Dems and seems to be one of the most openly and unapologetically racist Democrats in public life right now
