my precinct polling place is abt a mile from a bus stop but the bus is essentially useless for getting from any point in the precinct to the polling place
when i voted last week i just hopped on a bus and went to lentz
next election we ought to have free bus rides during the early voting period :)
People driving huge SUVs with confusing touch screens that require the driver to go through several menus to change the station: “we need to make pedal taverns safer.”
All this week I have been passing an early polling place (Lentz Health Center) in the bus ride into work. On Election Day my polling place (UAW 737 Union Hall) is not transit accessible.
Anyway a free transit day is useful for people who pay single ride/daily fares, but I don’t know if it useful for voting. Is your polling place transit accessible?
Calling all bus boys: Nashville is now on Racoon Transit.
May your work days be less productive, @jspencersharpe.bsky.social, @themanaen.bsky.social, @petebuttigieg.bsky.social, @neilkornutick.bsky.social, @ezrahowru.bsky.social & co.
I like that the truth has “limited” on site parking (it’s still too much). I like that it used less concrete and resources to build. I like that it encourages you to use public transit, bike or carpool. I like that the parking plan is the whole neighborhood. I like that there are shows most nights.
If you’re only willing to make improvements to places that have had crashes, you do not believe in vision zero, you believe in vision not another but if it happens again, we can look at that too. The main point is to prevent serious injuries and deaths.
This post may be the most effective argument right now for letting public transit wither. It may not make sense to you, but it feels right to many, many people. So in a short new post, I talk through what's going on here, and how to engage with it. humantransit.org/2026/09/the-...
Speaking of street lights: I just got a ride via Sylvan Park tonight. The roundabout at the entrance of McCabe at the bottom of Murphy Road is really too dark. A dad and kid were on their bikes in the crosswalk coming from the park: nearly invisible in spite of having reflectors. I'll tell Hub.
And when it's 90+ degrees out, the lack of shade trees along our sidewalks is a big problem for people who walk to get around or who wait for buses at stops that don't have shelters to provide shade.
NES incompetence caused several people to freeze to death in their homes. They knew the electricity wasn’t coming back on but they withheld that info so ppl stayed and froze in their homes.
CEO kept her job.
Now they’re taking revenge on all of Nashville by indiscriminately mauling our trees.
All I want is for people to pay attention to the road in front of them and obey the rules of the road. Its the bare minimum and it would make all of us so much safer.
Thought: Nashville Transit earmarks $$ for the Link program giving $$ to rideshare-app rando drivers & billionaire shareholders.
Why can't $$ be shifted to expand on-demand Access Ride to seniors 65 & over?
TOO MANY 90-YEAR-OLDS IN MY BUILDING DRIVE THEIR OWN CARS.
Cities with on-demand transit:
There is a rumor that the Federal Govt will be proposing a ban of bicycles on National Highway System (NHS) roads.
To be clear, this is not the freeway system, and not even just the *state* highway network, but bigger still than that.
Here is the map of the bay showing all NHS roads.
This looks more akin to what I ride. Tell any sensible user that you can't use a class 3 e-bike here... just all a very hilariously misguided "debate". Make this street look more like Utrecht, then we can debate 20 mph vs 28 mph lol
Advocates of body cams claim that cameras introduce accountability. But ICE are using them only as a tool to increase their power.
The only real leverage we have on police or ICE is in the social force we are able to mobilize against them through grassroots action.

Seeing this new version of Titans mascot T Rac is a little like seeing the Shoney’s by the stadium get torn down. Like, I know it had to happen, but we all enjoyed how goofy and Old Nashville it was.
So my brother lives in a different world from me: he just found out the Titans are building a new stadium. He said that parking must be hard since they’re building it on the parking lot and there wasn’t enough parking to start with. He thinks the East Bank should be a big parking garage.
When i drive the speed limit on Woodland and Davidson a line of drivers appears behind me. Where did they come from? If I am going the maximum speed, how do they catch up to me? I’m not good at math, can someone explain this to me?
